Ricoh CX6 Review

The Ricoh CX6 is a 10 megapixel compact camera featuring a 10.7x, 28-300mm zoom lens. Successor to the CX5 model, the Ricoh CX6 now offers an even faster autofocus speed of 0.1 second due to an improved hybrid AF system, twice the speed of the CX5. The...

The Ricoh CX6 offers enough new features - autofocus speed of 0.1 second, aperture- and shutter-priority shooting modes, a 3fps burst mode with auto-focus, a higher resolution 3 inch LCD screen, and a separate movie record button - to justify replacing...

Ricoh CX6

The Ricoh CX6 is a modest upgrade to the CX5 yet is already behind the rest of the travel zoom pack. It's a somewhat bulky camera with a 10 megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor, yet image quality doesn't compete with any of the other new travel...

Ricoh CX6

The latest model in Ricoh's CX series features several eye-catching upgrades, but does it warrant serious consideration?

1.23m-dot LCD screen, Hybrid AF system, Addition of shutter and aperture priority, Usability

Lack of Raw capture, Slightly bulky, Softening towards frame edges

Ricoh CX6 review

Exciting filters, a speedy AF and quality images from a compact camera

Excellent image quality ; Easy to navigate menus ; Variety of filters and shooting modes

Poorly placed buttons ; Hard to use dials ; Grey fringing on one shot

The Ricoh CX6 is an updated version of its still available predecessor, the Ricoh CX5. It adds aperture/shutter priority, continuous AF shooting modes, plus faster start-up and shorter shot-to-shot times.

Ricoh CX6 review

With little improvement in specification since the CX3, it is easy to feel a little disappointed with the Ricoh CX6.However, with greater control over exposure, the camera should please the enthusiast photographer looking for a travel-zoom compact model.

Ricoh CX6 Digital Camera review

Previous versions of the CX made a name for themselves as...

Speed of operation – from power on to shooting, in about one second

That tiny toggle button makes menus harder to navigate

Thanks to its super-fast auto focus, a dedicated movie button and massive, bright hi-res LCD, the Ricoh CX6 offers an excellent balance for anyone who appreciates the convenience of point-and-shoot but wants more sophisticated results. The other new...

Ricoh CX6 Digital Compact Camera Review

The latest camera in Ricoh's CX range, the CX6, is a premium digital compact camera with a 10.7x optical zoom lens and 10 megapixel sensor. Daniel Bell puts it to the test.

Minimum focus distance; 5 fps high-speed shooting; Good build quality; Quick focusing speed; Good colour reproduction; Good noise performance up to ISO1600

Noise when using zoom during video recording
