Samsung PL50 digital camera

Samsung's PL50 digital camera features a 10.2MP sensor and is designed for ease of use

Vibrant colour, useful night mode, built-in help files, relatively clear photos

Slow performance, inaccurate focusing, not good for macros

Samsung's PL50 is easy to use and produces good colours. It has a good range of scene modes and built-in colour modes, but it is slow camera and sometimes struggle to focus properly. Nevertheless, it's especially handy for taking pictures that are...

Samsung PL50

The PL50 gives an above average performance, and packs a useful set of features. All this make it a solid point and shoot.

Above average image quality ; Quick to focus ; Well implemented video recording function ; Optical Image Stabilization ; Good flash

Average low light performance

This sub-Rs 10,000 camera comes very close to the best buy Canon PowerShot A1100 IS in our scoring sheet. It has a 3x optical zoom in a compact body, and a well implemented video recording function that allows optical zooming. Its low light performance...

Samsung PL50

Samsung doesn't ask for much money upfront for the PL50, and it doesn't deliver much in return.

Logical camera controls ; In-built Photo Help Guide

Camera quality is very ordinary ; Very slow in-between shots

We reckon the PL50 is fairly priced at AU$249, but it's also not really something to get all that excited about. There are plenty of cameras in this price range that are better, and a little more money can buy you a much better compact camera.

Samsung PL50

Sitting at low end of the compact camera market the Samsung PL50 takes decent pictures and has a good number of image modes. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other cameras on the market but it is able to capture images at 10.2 Megapixels...

Excellent colour reproduction, Easy to Use, Good number of modes, Great night mode

Zoom button is a little flimsy, struggles in low light, Has trouble focusing at times

Dissatisfied with pictures

Looking for a replacement.

Nice size. Excellent rechargeable battery stays charged for a long time

I'm disappointed with the picture quality, and the video is even worse. I expected a lot better since my old Samsung 3.2 mp Digimax V3 took excellent pictures and good videos

Awesome!

This camera has an excellent chip. Depending on the settings used and lighting, You can do 100% crops and look similar to an expensive DSLR rig. I've taken just as beautiful photos with this camera then I have with my own DSLR. The condenser mic can...

Small, sleek, pretty, big screen, personal image function, long battery life, fast to charge, and one of the best chips I've ever seen in a cheap point and shoot camera

Poor image stabilization(although not important if you know how to image and take video), audio turns off when zooming in video, and flash takes a while to charge

DIS - not that cool

keep looking

10.2 Mega pixels, sleek, cute, big screen, somewhat cheap

The most proprietary charger i have ever seen on a camera (better hope you don't lose the charger), bad image stabilization

Samsung SL202

I bought a blue Samsung SL202 for amateur photography. I have had this camera for about 4 years, and it has served me well. It's great for action shots AND still shots. Very high quality and satisfying for the price. It's great for amateur photography...

Clear pictures, good for action shots and a lot of effects my new Nikon doesn't have. Many different settings and easy-to-use. It's a hardy camera with a not-to-bright flash. Small and lightweight. Fairly quick to take a picture and the camera...

Not great video, becomes blurry without flash,, and not good settings for snow. This camera sometimes has trouble turning on and it only came with a charger to plug into my laptop. The charger cord was short

Samsung SL 202 Digital Camera

Overall this is a very nice camera. It is small, sleek and reliable. it feels sturdy in your hand and does not freeze despite being dropped. There a few shortcomings that I will discuss, but they are mainly personal pet peeves, someone will probably...

Conclusion: A very nice camera at an affordable price, it has some bells a whistles but honestly none of them make much noise in my book. The price alone will make this camera sell, but don’t get caught in the features, they aren’t useful.
