Samsung SH100 review

Samsung seems to be the only camera manufacturer really pushing forward with Wi-Fi in its cameras. It's launched a handful of wireless-enabled models over the past couple years, but they've been mysteriously hard to come by, so I haven't been able to...

The Samsung SH100 has features tailor-made for people wanting the functionality of their smartphone camera in a point-and-shoot.

The SH100's low-light photos are not good and its performance can be slow. Also, wireless uploads are limited to 2-megapixel photos and 30-second low-res movie clips.

If you like all the photo apps for your smartphone camera but miss having an optical zoom, the Samsung SH100 is the point-and-shoot for you.

Samsung SH100: Brilliant In-Camera Features for a Bargain Price

At first glance, the Samsung SH100 ($200 as of July 13, 2011) looks like a run-of-the-mill, low-priced touchscreen camera. It's built for very casual snapshooters, and its core specs aren't exactly mind-boggling: The SH100's 14-megapixel CCD sensor may...

Great image quality and features for the price ; Very small and light ; Fun-to-use shooting modes ; Wireless sharing and remote-control features

Touchscreen can be unresponsive ; Has a toylike build ; Uses MicroSD cards for storage ; Digital stabilization only

With an array of wireless sharing and remote-control options, the Samsung SH100 has a generous feature set for a $200 camera. But it's mainly for young, casual shooters, due to its toylike build and lack of manual controls.

Samsung SH100

The Samsung SH100 offers some exciting wireless-sharing features, like tight integration with Samsung Android phones. But noisy images and a lack of optical image stabilization limit this pocket camera's appeal.

Sharp images. Robust wireless-transfer features. Can use the display on a Samsung Galaxy phone as a remote viewfinder.

Poor low-light performance. Sluggish boot and recycle times. Wireless video transfers to YouTube are limited to QVGA resolution.

Samsung SH100 Preview

Samsung has released yet another Wi-Fi enabled digicam, with the introduction of their new SH100. This ultra-compact shares many of it's features with the ST80 we reviewed in 2010, including 14-megapixels, a 3.0-inch touch screen LCD, Smart Auto, and...

Samsung SH100 Review

The Samsung SH100 is a new 14 megapixel compact camera with built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to wirelessly connect the camera to other devices, automatically back up your shots to your PC, or playback on your HDTV. The Wi-Fi capability on the Samsung SH100...

A compact camera with built-in Wi-Fi, whilst perhaps not an over-riding consideration for the average happy snapper at the point of purchase, certainly has its uses and moreover in the case of the SH100 actually works, and works simply. OK, it's not...

Samsung SH100

We're not sure the much-touted Wi-Fi is worth the unremarkable performance

Wi-Fi capability

Unimpressive color results; Poor resolution in actual use; Unpleasant handling

This has not been a positive review, but it’s hard for us to feel bad about it, since we’re just going to turn around and recommend another Samsung.

Samsung's SH100 Brings The Internet To Your Camera

It was more than four years ago that I first heard mention of Wi-Fi enabled cameras. It was theoretical technology at the time, and I was intrigued. Imagine being able to upload your pictures right from your camera! So when presented with the...

Simple and quick wireless media uploading;, Amazing photo quality;, Impressive battery life;, Amusing photo editing options

Complicated menus slow down useability;, Video quality leaves a little to be desired;, Limited destination options for uploading photos

Test Lab: Samsung SH100 digital camera review

The Samsung SH100 offers connectivity and fun, but hides an otherwise average point and shoot

Compact size ; Fun creative options ; User friendly interface

Picasa access, but not Flickr ; Lengthy shutter delay ; Poor low light performance

Taken just as a point and shoot camera, the Samsung SH100 is merely an average overall performer. It takes visually pleasing photos, provides decent HD video, all packed in an attractive, but non-descript compact body that fits nicely in your pocket.

Samsung Unveils the SH100 14.2 MP Camera

Nothing about the title of this post sounds exciting. We've seen plenty of 14.2 MP cameras, even WiFi enabled ones, on the market already. However, the interesting bit about the new SH100 is that it allows you to use your Android phone as a viewfinder...
