Samsung WB2000

It would be easy to mistakenly dismiss this new 10-effective-megapixel, 5x optical zoom (24-120mm equivalent in 25mm terms) model from Samsung as “just another” premium priced compact, and indeed it has arrived with a distinct lack of trumpets blaring....

RAW and JPEG capture, superb AMOLED rear screen provides life-like images, quiet zoom operation plus zoom accessible in movie mode, fast to focus and respond generally

Expensive if going by manufacturer’s asking price, poor battery life, noticeably noisy images at highest ISO settings and when shooting in lower light

For the privilege of owning a WB2000 Samsung was asking a high sounding £330 at the time of writing. That said a brief search online and we were able to discover the camera for a more realistic and enticing £260.

Samsung's WB2000 will appeal to photographers looking for plenty of bang for their buck, with a 3-inch AMOLED screen and full HD video recording.

Image quality, features, build quality!

Battery life is very short (less then 30min intensive use).

Excellent features and very good quality - great value for money.

Manual on cd and you need to spend time studying it to obtain best results - would have been far easier as paper version.

Samsung WB2000

For a such small lens low light properties better than expected, superb image/video quality even in low light. Light weight and pocketable. I was pretty satisfied with my two cameras (Lumix TZ5 and Casio FS10) but 720p HD-video with mono audio wasn't...

Image stabilization on video could be better. 10x zoom would be nice. Some software issues with image transfer (haven't updated yet).

Samsung WB2000

This camera is streets ahead of earlier Samsung cameras for picture quality. It has so many features that it takes some time to remember them all. The camera is just the right size, pocketable but not too small. I can throughly recommend it.

None of any importance.
