Sony DSC-F505V Review

Back in April Sony announced the F505V & F55V. Initially confusing, these cameras weighed in with 2.6 megapixels of resolution but both had 3.34 megapixel CCD's (as the label on the side of the camera clearly states).. What was going on here?

Sharp, high resolution and vividly coloured images Little or no visible red channel noise High quality Carl Zeiss designed lens Big, usable 5 x zoom Excellent available controls on outside of camera Silent focus & zoom mechanism One-push manual white...

Slow, both in start up but more importantly focusing, lag and between shots Some Barrel distortion at wide angles and Pincushion at Tele No viewfinder Aperture priority mode crippled by minimum 1/30s shutter speed Less manual features / flexibility...

Sony DSC-F505V

The new Sony DSC-F505V CyberShot looks almost identical to the original DSC-F505 on the outside, the difference is mainly on the inside. The F505V features a 3.3-megapixel imager but only uses a portion of that to generate a 2.6-megapixel (1856 x 1392) fi

Sony DSC-F505V Digital Camera Review: Intro and Highlights

Sony DSC-F505v: Would You Like Some Camera with that Lens?

The DSC-F505v marks Sony's entrance into the 3.3-megapixel digital camera fray... sort of.

Sony ships the camera with a single battery and a charger that can double as an AC power supply, a handy feature for studio photographers and for powering the camera when using its USB connection

Sony CyberShot DSC-F505

Excellent features, functionality and design. While many of the more pleasant aspects aren"t quantifiable, they are invaluable nonetheless.

Nice little Camera

Really wanted the DSC-F707, with its 5.2 Megapixels, viewfinder, and extra options, but found a great deal on this one ($549.00 at Circuit City because it was an open box item) and couldn't turn it down. Overall it is a nice camera with fairly high ...

Good resolution, auto/manual focus, swivel head, highest zoom available (other claims false), relatively cheap

no viewfinder, battery life, 8MB memorystick, needed repair for ~$250.
