Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V

The compact 10x-zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V packs in features and delivers impressive, low-noise images even at its highest ISO. But it falls a bit shy of its predecessor in terms of image sharpness.

Large, high-resolution LCD. 10x optical zoom lens. Top-notch low-light performance. Good HD video quality.

Images are a bit soft. Finicky GPS. Disappointing 3D capture. No dedicated battery charger. Slow to start recording video.

The GPS automatically adds coordinates to your image, allowing you to see the position from which a photo was taken in Picasa, iPhoto, and other compatible applications. Unfortunately, the GPS on the HX7V was a little temperamental in my tests. It took...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V

The ; is a feature-filled compact megazoom with very good photo and video quality and fast shooting performance.

The HX7V's photos aren't the sharpest, its interface can be sluggish, and there are a couple of minor design issues.

There's very little not to like about the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V, as it solves common snapshot camera issues while still being relatively simple and fun to use.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX7V Preview

The Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V is the mid-range model in a series of five new cameras recently announced from Sony at CES. It features a Sony G-series 10x optical zoom lens, 1080/60i AVCHD video recording, a 3" LCD viewing screen, a huge 16.2 megapixel "Exmor...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V Review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V is a feature-packed travel-zoom camera, offering a 10x, 25-350mm zoom lens, 16.2 megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, built-in GPS tracking complete with a compass, full 1080i high-definition video recording with...

The Sony CyberShot DSC-HX7V is a great alternative to the more expensive HX9V, our favourite travel-zoom, featuring a more modest 10x zoom, slightly slower autofocus, and "only" 1080i video, but otherwise offering all of the same cutting-edge features,...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V review

It might be easier to list what the Sony DSC-HX7 doesn't have, rather than the things that it does. Sony has crammed pretty much everything but the kitchen sink into this sturdy little snapper: it produces huge panoramic shots in single sweep, can take...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V

With a built-in GPS and compass, the 10x optical zoom HX7V from Sony is definitely a traveller's camera.

The HX7V will be available in Australia from March or April this year.

Sony CyberShot DSC-HX7V Review, Price in India

The Sony CyberShot DSC-HX7V is one of the budget cameras which offer a lot to the masses.

If you are looking for a compact megazoom camera then the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX7V is surely worth giving a shot. Its low light photo quality, good shooting performance and unlimited features are some of the reasons why you should go for the gadget. It...
