Sony CyberShot DSC-S40

Small, compact, and handsome with its matte-silver plastic body, the new Sony DSC-S40 digital camera continues the more traditional digital camera styling that differentiated the W-series models from the Cyber-shot pack, though it's more squat than any...

Compact size, Solid build, In-camera image stabilization makes all lenses better for low light shooting, Same sensor as 7D, Kit lens covers 18-70mm 35mm equivalent range, Very good to excellent low-light capability, Excellent battery life, Decent...

Proprietary hot shoe, No PC sync port, No video recording (a fact of life with SLRs), Hand grip may be uncomfortably small for some users, Image noise slightly high at ISO 1600, RAW+JPEG option only saves fine-mode JPEGs. (But that's not a bad...

Grab the camera in your right hand and your middle finger takes up an angled position across the front of the camera. Your thumb finds itself shoved over by the five way nav cluster to rest on the shiny metallic lanyard loop that juts out from the...

Sony Cyber-Shot S40

The Sony Cyber-shot S40 is one of the 3 new "S" digital cameras that Sony introduced this year, in early 2005. Though this is a great beginner's camera, Sony has at included some features which will please intermediate and some novice digital camera...

Pocketable ; Value for money ; Excellent movie mode ; Excellent battery life (The best I've seen so far in the S40's class) ; Low noise levels ; No red-eye ; Flash with average range ; USB 2.0

Limited manual controls ; Photos a little soft ; Slow, limited continuous shooting ; Startup time a little slow

The Sony Cyber-shot S40 is a great camera, comparable to others in its class. Battery life is excellent, especially even with the LCD on and using only 2 AAs. The S40 feels tough, even on the memory card and battery doors. Though they are limited and...

Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S40

The Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S40 is a basic, affordable snapshot camera that's a good deal if you don't mind its small LCD.

Compact design ; Fast response times ; Two continuous-shooting modes ; Strong battery life

Small LCD screen ; Limited manual settings ; Photos exhibit a slight softness ; Wrist-strap hook gets in the way

Exposure accuracy varied more than it should have, causing some overexposed and underexposed photos. Most of the time, the exposure was right where it should be, but when it was off, it could be by a considerable margin. We captured many excellent...

Sony DSC S40

Sony DSC S40 Review. Starter level point and shoot digital camera. This is one of the cheapest digital cameras available from a known brand.

Good overall picture quality ; Good indoor shots ; Very fast shutter response times ; Easy to use

LCD screen seems very small ; Macro shots poor

If you are on a limited budget and you are looking for a digital camera that can take high quality photos then I can happily recommend the Sony DSC S40. The place that it really beats all of its rivals is indoors where it produces sharply focused...

Incredible

This camera takes amazing pictures! I love it! The quality is so amazing for such a small and not so pricey camera. I have a 512 mb memory stick so I can take about 400 or more standard pictures or about 250 fine. Wow

I haven't found any yet...heh

Great Product. EXCELLENT SERVICE!

Just ordered this camera as a Christmas present for my daughter, based on previous experience with my own Sony digital camera. As always, Newegg got the order here in record time, even over Thanksgiving weekend... 3 days before it was scheduled.
