The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is gorgeous on the outside thanks to a slick and slim design and a sharp rear touch-screen LCD. This rugged pocket camera is waterproof to 16 feet, but its image quality is very disappointing.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is a slick, small rugged ultracompact that is fast to focus and shoot, and has plenty of fun shooting options for those looking to do more than just take pictures.

The TX20's photo quality is disappointing compared with nonrugged Sony Cyber-shots, and its design is almost too small and slippery to use in water.

The rugged camera that doesn't look rugged, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 is a nice option for people wanting an ultracompact for days by the pool and nights on the town.

Style and a little bit of substance can go together in a tough camera, as long as your expectations of photo quality are not too high. The TX20 is a slimline, waterproof model that will appeal to fashionistas more so than fashion photographers.

Stylish, slimline camera ; High-resolution touchscreen ; Good video quality ; Decent image quality if you just want snapshots/web use

Surface is slippery even when dry ; Buttons might be too small for some hands ; Can't use touchscreen underwater

We like the TX20, but can't help feeling a bit disappointed that this is not the successor we would have expected, given how well its predecessor, the TX10, performed.
