Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 review

Sony packs a surprising number of features and color choices in its Cyber-shot DSC-W120, a 7-megapixel shooter that teeters on the fence between budget and fashion. It lacks some of the features of the Cyber-shot T- and higher-end W-series cameras, but...

Good picture quality; quick performance; broad feature set.

Small buttons; misses many on-board editing options other models have.

It's not as feature-laden as higher-end models, but the Cyber-shot W120 offers plenty of style and substance for the price.

Sony Cyber Shot L review

Sony Cyber Shot DSC-L1 Casual photographers will like the compact design, above-average performance, and long battery life of Sony's Cyber Shot DSC-L1, along with the extrawide view offered by its 32mm-to-96mm (35mm-camera equivalent) 3X Carl Zeiss...

Slick design and finish; available in four colors; quick performance; ultracompact; excellent battery life; wide-angle view; easy operation.

Subpar image quality, small LCD viewfinder; limited controls.

Quick performance and style only partially compensate for this compact shooter's mediocre image quality and limited LCD viewfinder.

Sony Cyber Shot Pro review

Review summary Part of the first generation of 7-megapixel digital cameras, Sony's DSC-V3 boasts a 4X Carl Zeiss zoom lens, a big 2.5-inch LCD, plenty of advanced features, and fairly sprightly performance. Though its image quality isn't absolutely top...

Unusually solid high-ISO performance for a non-dSLR; big 2.5-inch LCD; quick overall performance; relatively light and compact.

Low-ISO photos show some JPEG and edge artifacts; poor raw-format shot-to-shot time; subpar optical viewfinder.

This Sony offers good features and performance in a compact camera for enthusiasts, but its low-ISO image quality doesn't quite match the best in its class.

First Looks: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120

Compact, powerful and elegant are the traits one look for in a compact digital camera, and Sony delivers all three with its latest Cyber-shot W-series model, the DSC-W120.

Setting itself ready for an end February release date, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 will be available in four different colors: pink, blue, black and silver. Expect a recommended retail price of US$199.99 (~S$283), which is pretty reasonable for a...

A fashionable budget point-and-shoot camera

Good picture quality, fashionable styling

Lacks features, slightly over-priced

The Cyber-shot DSC-W120 is a fashionable camera that is simple to use and captures crisp, rich photos, although it’s slightly expensive and doesn’t have many advanced features.
