Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 Digital Camera review

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 is a fairly basic point-and-shoot, good for casual photographers in need of a small, lightweight camera that performs well in auto. It doesn't require the user to do much beyond turning it on and pressing the shutter...

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 is an attractive, easy-to-use ultracompact camera with a few nice extras for its sub-$140 price tag.

Photos taken above ISO 200 are noticeably soft, and the camera's shooting performance is too slow for moving or impatient subjects.

For simple snapshots of stationary subjects, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 should do the trick. At least, as long as you have plenty of light.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W650 Review

An affordable and competent ultra-compact digicam, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650 has excellent quality and performs on par with other cameras in its class. It's price tag of under $140 makes it a great candidate for anyone on a budget. Read more in our...

Ultra-Compact body is always easy to carry with you at all times ; Easy to use controls and menu system ; Captures nice 16-megapixel photos when using auto or program modes ; Convenient control to quickly switch between Still, Panorama, or Video ;...

Weak built-in flash (typical for camera of this size however) ; High levels of noise at all ISO settings over ISO 400; can be seen indoors and out when pixel peeping ; Lacking a little in the performance area ; No mode button to take you directly to...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W650

The W-series has done really well in the past couple years, blending a diminutive size with stylish brushed-metal body and snappy performance. The W650 is $20 more than the W620 but gains an extra 2 megapixels, a better 5x zoom with 25mm wide-angle,...

Great camera, bad deal

Save time and buy a new Sony DSC-W650 at B.B. for $10 less and no waiting.

16 MP with a Carl Zeiss lens is great. Large screen, light weight and, easy to use controls

NO SD card furnished. And OLD battery. The first Camera was returned because it could not keep a charge. (required trip to UPS) Also, B.B. is selling the same (new not referb) for $10 less and could have saved two weeks

QUIT WORKING AFTER USING 3 TIMES

Took pics on vacation one day and the next day would not work. When turned on, the shutter lens would go in and out repeatedly & said turn camera off and on. Then it wouldn't come back on. What a waste of money & the store I purchased it from wouldn't...

Very satisfied!

I've had this camera for about a month & I'm very pleased. To clarify the Cons, it feels to me that the battery it came with has a short life, but on the plus side, it's easy to charge. The tripod socket is placed right next to the Battery/Memory stick...
