Sony ZV-1 review: A powerful, portable vlogging camera

The ZV-1 is Sony's first RX100-series camera designed specifically for vlogging. It does that job well thanks to a lightweight body, built-in high-quality microphone, flip-out display, best-in-class autofocus and excellent image quality. The 24-70mm...

Small and lightweight ; Fast autofocus with reliable face/eye tracking ; Built-in high-quality microphone ; Fully articulating screen ; Good video quality

Lens needs to be wider ; No headphone port ; Limited touch screen functions

That amounts to nit-picking, though. It’s honestly incredible what Sony has packed into this tiny vlogging camera, like the superb autofocus, flip-out screen, high-quality microphone and more. It should make a particularly good step-up camera for...

Sony ZV-1 Review

Compact form factor ; Flip-out touch screen ; Bright, sharp zoom lens ; Excellent in-camera audio ; External mic and flash support ; 4K video capture

A wider-angle lens would be welcome ; Limited touch features ; Face detection struggles when wearing protective mask ; Underwhelming battery life ; No in-camera flash

The Sony ZV-1 is a pocketable camera with strong still image quality and features geared specifically toward vloggers.

Sony ZV-1 Review

The Sony ZV-1 is a new compact camera that's been built from the ground up for vlogging, with a vari-angle screen, fast auto-focusing, three-capsule direction microphone, and a wealth of vlogger-friendly shooting modes. Is this the ultimate camera for...

The Sony ZV-1 is a tailor-made RX100-style camera for video creators

Are you a YouTuber, a vlogger, an independent video creator, or even just a casual video shooter? What camera do you typically grab for shooting video? These days, the options are nearly endless, with all sorts of different types and styles of cameras....

Sony ZV-1 review: we liked it then, so do we still like it now?

The Sony ZV-1 is like a re-imagined Sony RX100 repurposed for the vlogging market, and it's like it's suddenly found its natural purpose

Vari-angle rear screen ; Clip on wind shield ; Brilliantly fast AF ; Compact size

Min focus varies with zoom ; Stabilization seems pretty jerky ; Why a 3:2 screen and not 16:9? ; Lacks front-facing touch control

It would be easy dismiss the ZV-1 as yet another Sony RX100 variant, but it’s much more than that. The sensor and lens might be familiar, but the body, the controls, the audio and the rear screen are all new and different and optimised brilliantly for...

Sony ZV-1 review

The Sony ZV-1 could be the dream camera for vloggers on a budget, thanks to its excellent quality and clever video features.

Powerful yet easy-to-use features ; Relatively inexpensive ; Very good quality video and stills ; Excellent AF ; Very good quality audio ; Can be used as a webcam

May not be versatile enough for advanced vloggers ; Image stabilization could be better ; Streaming and webcam features not available on macOS Big Sur

That aside, I think this small, very smart camera will be a valuable asset for many vloggers — and even more so now that it can stream as a webcam, too.

Sony ZV-1 review: Near-perfect video camera for vloggers, self-shooters

Priced at Rs 59,990, the Sony ZV-1 brings the ease of shooting on table with its highly compact form factor and accessories that reduce your dependency on others. Is it worth spending on? Let's find out in our Sony ZV-1 review.

Compact form factor ; Rotating touch screen ; Advanced features

Absence of viewfinder ; Single lens ; Average stabilization

The Sony ZV-1 addresses several pain-points for vloggers and self-shooters. While I am not one, I spent most of the pandemic shooting videos from home for it is part of my job. And, the experience was bizarre often due to the lack of equipment. The...

Sony ZV-1 Review | Trusted Reviews

The ZV-1 is Sony's first all-in-one camera designed specifically for vloggers, but does it do enough to attract people away from their smartphones?

Unbelievable mic quality;Top-tier autofocus;Instant bokeh mode

Can overheat indoors;Convoluted menus that are a pain to use;Micro-USB rather than USB-C
