Have owned lots of LG products but this may be the last. I will be buying different brands in the future. If I spend $800 on a DVD HDD machine I expect it to be a pleasure to use, not a constant source of frustration.
When it works it is great. Packages a lot of features into one unit.
Have owned this machine four years and it has had parts replaced three times and the unit replaced altogether once. It has developed a new problem with ghosting across the screen. I may not bother trying to have it fixed this time as the last repair...

Good except the unit seems to suffer from HDD fragmentation problems if you edit recordings and use auto clock mode. All my timer and recording freezing problems disappeared after I set the clock to manual mode and just kept my recordings as raw...
1) easy to use for kids and technophobe spouse. 2) Fast Dubbing is fast but only available on unedited recordings. You can watch live TV while fast dubbing is running.
1) have to turn off the recorder to get it to do timer recordings even it playing a dvd and recording to HDD. Unit warns 10 and 5 mins before a timer event is due. 2) Unit powers itself of and on again for back to back timer events on same or different...

Easy enough to use
LG are refusing to repair it under warranty, even though it started playing up during the warranty period.

I would not recommend buying this unit. There are better value units on the market now. It's crap. It fails to record timer programs for no apparent reason. It won't play certain dual layer dvds. It's slow to change functions.
Has SD tuner, hdd and dvd all in one

I am very disappointed. The Freezing on record mode is both on timer and hard record mode. The machine thinks it is running (timer still counts) but the telecast you wish to watch is not there. I have lost the receipt from purchase so I have no come...
It looks OK - but that is little consolation
It Freezes - no apparent reason
