Parrot Bebop 2 FPV review

Same design ; SkyController 2 a big step up ; Straightforward assembly and setup ; Repairable, with spare parts options ; Cheaper than competition

FPV headset needs reduced latency ; Camera is better, but still needs work ; Susceptible to strong winds

The Bebop 2 comes off as the same drone on the surface, and it really is when breaking down the sum of its parts, except the accessories and app updates have pushed it to a different level. We would hesitate to call this “elite” because it doesn’t have...

Parrot Bebop 2 FPV

The Parrot Bebop 2 FPV is an attractive, compact drone for backyard and rural pilots, but it has difficulty with long distance flight in areas with crowded Wi-Fi signals.

Compact. Includes remote and FPV goggles. 19-minute average flight time. Stable 1080p video. Supports midair flips and rolls. Adjustable geofence. Flight app works with Android and iOS.

Very limited suburban operating range. Full-resolution images are fish-eye. Smartphone or tablet required for camera view. So-so video quality.

Pilots looking for a compact, portable drone are certainly going to consider the Bebop 2 as an option. It has some definite advantages, including stable video, solid battery life, and a good operating range in environments without a lot of home Wi-Fi...

Parrot Bebop Drone 2 review

Maybe it's the design, or its size and weight, or that you're just as likely to find it sold as a phone accessory as you are in a toy store or camera department of a big-box retailer, but Parrot's Bebop 2 is one of the least intimidating camera drones...

The Parrot Bebop Drone 2 is small enough to stick in your average backpack, but sturdier than the original with about twice the battery life. Its propellers stop the instant they're obstructed, easy barrel rolls and flips and new banked turns...

It's pricey when bundled with the massive Skycontroller remote control, and its video quality hasn't improved much from the first-gen Bebop. In-app purchases are required for features other drone makers include. Its control range is dependent on your...

The Parrot Bebop 2 definitely improves on the original and remains a good choice for its portability and safer design, but stiffer competition and merely good image quality limit its overall appeal.

Review: Parrot Bebop 2

Personal drones are nearly ubiquitous now, and the Parrot AR was among the first to resonate with consumers. The quadcopter made its debut at CES in 2010, and made flying dead-simple. Anyone could fly it easily, no experience required, using a...

A fun drone you can fly using just your phone. Small form factor and lightweight design makes it easy to carry. Software controller cuts down on bulk. Flight times have been improved over its predecessor, a welcome development

Software controller is difficult to use. Wi-Fi drops consistently. Storage maxes out at a paltry 8GB. The $400 SkyController, while nice, ruins the light-and-simple thing

It’s frustrating, because if the Bebop 2 performed the way Parrot clearly wants it to, it would be fantastic. As it stands, however, this is not the drone you’re looking for.

The Parrot Bebop 2 drone is fun, fine, and fatally flawed — our review

As the resident drone guy at The Verge, I got a lot of questions around Christmas from people who wanted to buy a drone for their friends or family. I enjoy chatting about drones, so this would...

Low cost ; Lightweight ; Compact ; Improved battery life

Unreliable connection ; Few autonomous features ; No removable storage

Parrot Bebop 2 Review

The Parrot Bebop 2 is a small, lightweight camera drone with no gimbal. While the small size makes it fairly inexpensive and fun to fly, the lack of a...

The can serve as a selfie machine or a fun toy for a kid but definitely is not filmmaking material.

Parrot Bebop 2 Power FPV Pack Drone Review: Best Simple Video Drone

The $599 Parrot Bebop 2 Power FPV offers a lot of features for the price. You get a drone that can take great video and photos, and flying fast if you want to try racing. The FPV headset is also comfortable to use, and produces a great feeling of being...

Easy to fly ; Fast ; Great value ; Good video for price

No 4K video ; Not as portable as the Mavic Pro

The Parrot Bebop 2 Power FPV pack offers a lot of features for moviemakers, but no 4K video.

Parrot Bebop 2 Drone Review

The kit we tested isn't cheap: Parrot sent us the Bebop 2, the Skycontroller and a Parrot-branded backpack that neatly holds everything, a combination that retails for a heady $800. You'll pay about $550 for the Bebop 2 without the extras. That's a lot...

Excellent battery life ; Phone/tablet controls are easy to learn ; Easily replaceable parts ; Strong video quality

Touch-screen controls lack sensitivity ; Camera is prone to lens flares

The Bebop 2 is a simple and fun-to-fly drone that takes great video and stills.

Parrot Bebop 2 Power FPV review

You've got the power

Light and portable ; Good stamina ; Excellent companion app

Battery change needed to reach an hour of flight ; Video could be better

While the Bebop 2 Power represents a modest improvement on the previous model, it remains one of the best-value drones on the market right now thanks to its portable design, excellent performance, intuitive companion app and decent stamina. An...

Parrot Bebop 2 review

A drone that – for a little extra – will make you think you can fly

Great battery life ; Stable flight performance ; FPV accessories work well

Video is glitchy at long distances ; Fisheye camera suffers from lens flare ; Autonomous functions cost extra

On its own the Parrot Bebop 2 is a likeable smartphone-controlled drone that captures good-quality stills and video, but it's the addition of the FPV kit which really makes it stand out, offering a better control experience and an amazing perspective...
