DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ review

Excellent build quality ; Highly responsive controls ; Helpful autonomous features ; Easy to upgrade

Only comes with one battery ; Long charge time ; Cumbersome gimbal controls

After spending a couple weeks with the Phantom 2, it’s clear why this is one of the most popular drones in the biz. It’s ready-to-fly right out of the box, it’s durable and well built, and most importantly, it’s an absolute blast to fly. The controls...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision+

The DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ drone is incredibly fun to fly and captures solid 1080p video, but its battery life is very limited.

Easy to learn to fly. Integrated camera with stabilization system. 1080p video capture. Shoots JPG and Raw stills. Built-in GPS. App works with iOS and Android devices. Durable. Return-to-home safety and low battery safety features.

Pricey. Feed stalls when capturing a still. 3,000-foot operating range is an optimistic estimate. Battery life limits flying time.

GPS is built-in, and and when you first turn on the copter it will take a couple of minutes to acquire a location lock. Occasionally you'll need to calibrate its compass—swirling it around on both axes makes short work of that task—but for the most...

Review: Using the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ camera drone with Apple's iPhone

As the name suggests, DJI's Phantom 2 Vision+ isn't much different than its predecessor, with the same exceptional flying capabilities as the last model. But the newfound "plus" for this drone is mostly found in its vastly improved camera and gimbal,...

New three-axis gimbal makes footage smoother than ever ; Works great with Apple's iPhone or iPad, offering live view of your flight ; Hardware is durable, and flying is easy — you'll be zipping around like a pro in no time ; DJI Vision app has been...

At $1,300, it's a $100 price increase over the previous Phantom 2 Vision ; The camera is still inferior to the latest GoPro, but live, long-distance stream over Wi-Fi is a major bonus ; The unexpected behavior that caused a crash is concerning

At more than four times the cost of a Parrot AR 2.0, the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ is meant for high-end users. That doesn't mean you need to be an expert pilot to safely fly or enjoy this iPhone accessory, but it does mean that if you're looking for a...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Review

Overall, the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ is the best consumer drone available. It comes with everything you need to fly, and it performs phenomenally. Plus, it has built-in GPS and a camera that takes incredible photos and high-quality aerial footage.

The drone has a built-in camera and a three-axis, brushless gimbal to keep it steady.

This drone isn't as simple to fly as others on the market.

The Phantom 2 Vision+ drone is small but sturdy. It is a serious UAV that takes phenomenal photographs from impressive heights.

DJI Phantom 2 Vision Review

The DJI Phantom 2 Vision will turn heads in two ways: when people see it fly effortlessly through the sky, and when people see the incredible footage after your flights. It has almost everything you need, with the exception of batteries for the...

This drone has a battery life of 25 minutes, which is as long as it gets.

The drone doesn't have a stabilization gimbal.

DJI's Phantom 2 Vision is easily one of the best drones available. It has excellent battery life, produces fantastic quality footage and stills and is fast and fun to fly.

DJI Phantom 2 Vision review

Drones are a hot issue at the moment. Products such as the DJI Phantom 2 are not only amazing, they change the recreational market because similar devices typically costs thousands of pounds. Not so with the DJI - the price tag is closer within reach...

Superb quality video, easy to fly, brilliantly designed, sturdy, features will be added through firmware updates, can adjust camera independently via the app

Expensive, sometimes a bit of a pain to configure, occasional GPS lock-on issues, remote control looks a bit of a mess when fully set up

Although "fun" isn't perhaps the main objective of DJI in the Phantom 2 Vision, it's still a brilliant bit of kit to play with. It flies superbly, and you can get some genuinely amazing footage out of it. Remember the limitations of the camera when the...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus V3.0 review

Why it makes sense to spend a lot of money on a quadcopter

At under £700 now, the Phantom 2 Vision Plus V3 is an awesome piece of kit and delivers great 1080p aerial footage.

Top-notch eye in the sky

More powerful than your average toy quadcopter, but not as intimidating as DIY enthusiast models, the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ falls in a sweet spot for anyone who wants to get started capturing videos and photos from the sky.

The DJI Phantom Vision 2+ is an easy-to-set-up and ultimately simple-to-pilot quadcopter drone for aerial photos and video. It's fun to fly, well-constructed, has very good battery life for its class and can painlessly be set to navigate a flight path...

Video quality is on par with a lower midrange POV camera. Though flight times are longer than those of most RTF copters, you'll want to factor in an extra battery or two and spare propellers into the cost. Ground Control features might be too limited...

An excellent entry point into the world of aerial photos and video, DJI's Phantom 2 Vision+ is worth the cost for its simple setup and use.

DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Review: Buttery Smooth Quadcopter Video

DJI has been making remote-control quadcopters for years. Originally, you had to strap your GoPro to it, but last year DJI introduced the Phantom 2 Vision,

Okay, so this thing is really, really, really fun and it's handily the simplest way to get stabilized arial video. That said, it's $1,300 (or $1,370 for the kit with an extra battery, which is definitely worth it). For just a bit more, you could buy...
