I entirely agree with the other negative review. Mine worked fine but soon after the 12 month expiry had elapsed it wouldn't read any discs. If you want a decent DVD recorder, dig deep and buy a Panasonic!!

I will not recommend the GPX DVD Player to anyone.  I had it for less than a month and it broke on me.  It finds random times to eject the disc if and when it actually finally reads it.

Cheap made-in-china feeling with a very fragile disc tray. Surprisingly mine still works after years (a bit noisy) but on the other hand I don't use it much, maybe 12 times a year on average.

I bought this at Shopko on sale for $69.00 for the daughters B-day. Had it over a year and it still works good. Personally I think the picture is real nice but it's the only one I've ever bought and it's not like you use it everyday.

The DVD953AT outputs a good progressive-scan picture, but you can probably find a better bang for your buck.
