You get what you pay for

I have had very few problems with anything ordered from newegg. As a matter of fact, this is my second issue (the other was a cheap power supply). Horrible product. Spend more and get something better

great price

never played a dvd. i tested it with a cd to verify that it worked... then i waited too long to see if it played a dvd. too late to return it

Dead (Twice!)

I was looking for DVD players at Newegg when I saw this Coby model DVD-536 for sale and thought that I would comment. Perhaps my experience was unusual, but I would be wary of purchasing this brand again.

Cheap price, slim size, attractive design.

I have bought several products from Newegg, but not these two units that I had trouble with, which I purchased where my wife works. Both units did the same thing: Worked pretty good for about 2 months, having only sporadic problems with movies...

It's dead now.....

This thing from out of the box it had issues playing DVDs on startup. You had to open/close/turn on/turn off. The audio would get out of sync with the video on the DVD and to correct that you had to pause it and start. My favorite was at not even 6...

Spend your money elsewhere

Save your money for a name brand model. From the entry screen on this it seems that Emerson is involved with Coby, so at least upgrade to the actual brand rather than one that takes their firmware for their own use.

It has a volume control for the dvd, handy if you don't want to hunt for another remote. Aside from that...

While it plays MPEG files, it does so with difficulty. Don't let it sit paused, as if the screen saver turns on you have to unplug the unit to get it to respond. Owned for less than 3 months and it already died, the screen lost hold and wouldn't...
