Kindle Paperwhite review (2018): A classic, updated

Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite has long been the go-to e-reader, and for good reason. It provides an enjoyable reading experience with enough premium features to keep most literary lovers happy. Now, with the addition of Bluetooth/Audible and...

Audible support ; Waterproofing ; Improved design ; Better-contrast display

Pricey when fully loaded (LTE and 32GB storage and no “special offers”) ; No MP3 or text-to-speech support

Kindle Paperwhite (2018) review

New IPX8 water-resistant design is great for tubs and pools ; Access to massive bookstore ; Good battery life ; Bluetooth connectivity for audiobooks

Cannot customize page-turn gestures ; No option to adjust color temperature

The Kindle Paperwhite isn’t perfect, but an excellent ebook reader for people in the Amazon ecosystem. It’s portable, durable, and allows you to enjoy your favorite books in multiple formats.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2018)

For $130, the waterproof Kindle Paperwhite offers more for your money than any other ebook reader on the market.

Waterproof. Flat front is easy to clean. Plays audiobooks over Bluetooth. Long battery life.

Doesn't support Immersion Reading.

Bottom Line: For $130, the waterproof Kindle Paperwhite offers more for your money than any other ebook reader on the market.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2018 review: The e-book reader for the masses

The new Kindle Paperwhite doesn't look much different from the previous model, but a host of nice upgrades -- it's slightly slimmer, fully waterproof and has Bluetooth for Audible listening -- make it a winner.

10 percent slimmer, lighter and more durable with full waterproofing. Text is slightly sharper and better lit. Base storage is bumped from 4GB to 8GB. Bluetooth audio is on board for audiobooks. Minor updates enhance Amazon's already best-in-class...

A little more expensive than the previous model. The ad-free version costs $20 more.

While it costs a little more than the previous model and doesn't look much different, the new Kindle Paperwhite (2018) is more durable, fully dunkable, and ultimately a nice upgrade.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2018) review: the new best-seller

Just add water(proofing)

Waterproof ; Great display ; Weeks-long battery

No physical buttons ; USB-C is a no-show ; 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only

Correction: The Kindle Paperwhite (2018) is rated IPX8 waterproof, not water resistant.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Is Just a Delight

I've been using successive iterations of the Kindle Paperwhite for five years now, and yes, the new one is better than the ones that came before. It's slightly smaller, and slightly lighter, and even a little bit brighter too. Plus it's waterproof!

Easy-to-use. New premium hardware design.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2018) Review: The Best Got Better

With water-resistance and a flush-to-screen display, Amazon's taken the Paperwhite and made it even more compelling. The only downside is that it costs $10 more now.

Waterproof ; Bluetooth for audiobooks ; Same great e-reader ; Screen is now flush to bezels

Power adapter sold separately ; $10 price bump

Now that it's waterproof, the Kindle Paperwhite is the only e-reader you need to know about.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite updated with twice the memory, new waterproof design, small price hike

Amazon may have all but discontinued the recently, but t the company's new and improved takes some obvious design cues from the company's higher-priced models including the Voyage and Oasis.

A new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite with 8GB of storage and “special offers” is riced at $130. You can also pay $160 for a 32GB model. or$250 for a 32GB version with cellular connectivity.

Sound compatibility ; Affordable price ; Huge catalog ; Intuitive interface

Not fully waterproof ; Need to convert files when manually adding e-books
