Do Not Buy

Terrible piece of c&*p and waste of $120. You will be disappointed even if it cost thirty bucks. I repeat: Do Not Buy.

None that I can think of

I bought this in Spring 2010. By Spring 2011 it broke. I am not sure how. It was in a suit case and perhaps got delicately squashed. I had a plate in there too that didn't break. A few months after I bought it the Kindle went down in price and now...

Ectaco Jetbook Lite

At first, I was wanting a "color" reader and one that would read audiobooks as well as ebooks. As for the color, the black and white (or grays) are actually very soothing, not " busy" If you really want a computer, pay for one. If you really want a...

Ready to read out of the box. Has internal manual, but is almost self-explanatory. Has more versatility than the much higher priced much advertised brands, in that it reads more formats, or formats can be read after conversion. Easier to see and read...

Only con I really have is that it doesn't "read" audiobook format, but for $89. Oh well

Great E-Reader

Multi-format e-reader at a great price. Have read 7 or 8 books in the 2 weeks I have had this and it works great

Have had no issues once I realized not to try to load books to the SD card in the e-reader. It's not a really bad thing but a little annoying sometimes

Love it!

Got this for Valentines Day from my husband. I have loaded 30+ books on it since then. Great "starter" ereader for a novice.

User friendly. Comfortable to hold. Accepts various file formats--including those from the Public Library, Pdf files and Nook books from Barnes and Noble. Accepts SD cards for tons of storage of books. Takes regular batteries or rechargeables. No glare...

Disappointed that I haven't been able to use Kindle books with DRM on it, even using Calibre (an optional great free software program available online for managing and converting ebooks.)

Awesome No-Frills eReader

Thank you Ectaco for an affordable eReader that does just that! Thank you NewEgg for another tremendous offer!

Easy to use, quick to update, a joy for reading! I use this for both technical books and recreational reading and so far, I am very impressed with how well books are presented, ease of switching fonts and fast page turns

Only one issue, which was my fault but also not well documented. The SD card works best with FAT formatting. FAT32 seems slower and NTFS won't work at all. Haven't tried it with Linux formatting, but I can't imagine it would be an issue. Now that I...

Simple ebook

I'm 61 have no issues with this ebook--if you are always close to a pc you do not need the web on your ebook and this ebook reads like a book

This is my 1st ebook,it's great in the sun or low light--you will have to use a light at night (no back light) this also saves your battery. There is no internal battery which I like--something to consider if you donot upgrade offten--most ebooks do not...

none--no mp3 player

Ectaco 5" High Resolution e-Book Reader (jetBook-Lite)

A great way to avoid proprietary format / proprietary design readers. Give the K*ndle or N*ok as a gift to the less knowledgeable, and get this one for yourself at half-price.

A great and inexpensive little reader for the knowlegeable PC user. Runs on just about any AA battery, including shorter rechargeables taken from clearance sale cell phone packs. (Note: All proprietary design battery packs are banned from this household.)

Do NOT load the SD card through the device. It is way quicker to load the books through your PC and put the card into this jetBook when done. If you don't have a USB plug-in card reader on your PC, I strongly recommend you purchase one along with the...

Works Great

The free Calibre e-book software is incredibly useful for this device. I originally wanted one of the "popular" readers, but now I'm glad I gave the Jetbook a try. Can't comment on DRM; I only read old books that are free from copyright.

AA batteries: I can find these anywhere, and the bulge on the back makes this otherwise tiny device easy to hold in my large hands ; SD Card: While there's a small amount of internal memory, it is nice to have a use for the "too small" SD cards I no...

I have some issues with the sliding page turn switch. It feels "loose" and a slight touch will send it back a page or two. That's okay, I prefer to use the lower right corner switch anyway, but this cost it an egg ; Locked up on me once, but the reset...

Great reader

It's doing the job it suppose to do: read books. No fuss, no gadget. It's simple and it works. Not expensive, easy update on the web. Not to many accessories, those are a bit expensive(case and light).

Easy tu use, no recharging problem, easy to handle, nice screen no eye fatigue

On/off button is a little to small

JetBook Lite

I ordered a Jetbook Lite for my wife over one year ago. She loves it. I recently ordered another Jetbook Lite for myself as I believe it is the best deal you can currently find. Can easily convert other book formats to Epub using the free program...

Accepts many formats but I believe Epub, txt, and RTF are the best formats for this reader. Quick page change and easy on the eyes. Not e-ink but excellent type quality and easy to see outdoors. Uses AA batteries (I have two sets of rechargables so I...

During ownership for over a year the Jetbook Lite froze one time about two months ago. However, once it was connected to a computer via the USB cable it functioned correctly. No problems since that time and it is used everyday. Lost one egg due to the...
