Review: Garmin Edge 840 Solar

Garmin's update to one of our favorite solar-powered cycling computers puts all the ride and fitness stats you'd ever want to see on your handlebars.

With more accurate GNSS technology, an expanded climbing feature, automated training plans for upcoming races, and solar charging, this cycling computer is a power-packed tool in a compact body.

The screen is just 2 by 3 inches—smaller than a deck of cards—making the fine print on the display tough for aging eyes to see.

No Wires: Garmin Edge 305 HR

No lead wires to wheel sensor needed., Easy to switch between bikes, or use for other purposes, such as running., Get a great training log, and chart parameters such as heart rate, just by uploading data., Share map and ride data with friends online.

No moving map display. Not a true navigation aid., Heart rate monitor strap needs significant sweat or electrolyte gel for good contact., Battery life: should recharge after every ride.

I really like having a detailed training log, but I don’t like entering all of the information required to keep a log updated. That's why I was eager to try the Garmin Edge 305 cyclecomputer, which automatically uploads vast amounts of information...

Review: Garmin Edge 305 GPS Review

A new review on the Garmin Edge 305 has come out and it's really thorough. The Garmin Edge 305 is a pretty sweet little "fitness computer" that helps you train and track your cycling. The heart of the system is the main computer that you attach to...

Garmin Edge 305 Review

The Garmin Edge 305 is a new GPS-enabled cyclometer. The 305 comes in three models — the 305CAD includes a cadence/speed sensor, the 305HR includes a heart rate monitor, and the 305HR+ comes with both. All the Edge 305 series utilize a barometric...

Great fits my need

Highly recommend this. Great for training, rehab and just tracking your ride.

Great! Just had triple-bypass surgery and must exercise for my rehab. I bought this to monitor my heart rate on my rides. The heart monitor and cadence counter allows be to do this perfectly. The speedometer, odometer, and clock functions more accruate...

Cadence counter was a little difficult to mount and adjust. The pedal sensor since the back of my pedal is concave. Also the heart monitor was a little hard to get working right, once I solved the problem (weak battery), it was super. Remember to wet...

Awesome device

This isn't exactly a "needed" item for biking. However, it is a great tool for people that like to keep track of the things they do and brag about it or share it with others. It's a fun device.

This device is great for tracking your bike rides. I have used it on every single bike ride I've gone on and can use all the data to show me where I need improvement or adjustments in my riding. I can also export the data from the included software to...

EDGE 305HR+ SPEED/CADENCE SENSOR

Website stated that the product was in stock, but after I purchased it, the order showed as backordered. Accurate inventory systems should be pretty easy to coordinate between in-store and internet, and updating should be instantaneous. So much for 3...

Speed & cadence sensor is one unit. Speed reads from rear wheel, so it works on a trainer.

Unit is large & clunky. Cannot be used easily when not attached to a bike.
