Garmin's Edge 500 is a new bike-specific GPS serving a geek's buffet of cycling metrics.
No waste — every data field is specific to cycling. Crazy lightweight. Seamless integration with desktop and online utilities
A more secure mount would be nice. Awkward button placement

When the Edge 130 came out a bit over two years ago, I think there was general confusion on where it fit in the Garmin lineup. While I don't think that confusion was understood by Garmin initially, consumers presumed it was basically a mini-Edge 500....

Compact, feature-packed, highly customizable., Sharp appearance, nice detail and finish., Convenient and sturdy stem or bar-mount system., Compatible with heart rate monitor, cadence/speed sensor, and third-party power meters.
Smallish display size = difficult to see text if more than five data fields displayed.

More data than you can ever take in, but customisable to exactly what you want. Great integration with GarminConnect online website to upload your rides to for full analysis and permanent record. Course feature is great for racing against an earlier...
Data fields can be a bit small to read on a lumpy road, but when you get used to where the particular data fields are on the page it gets better.

Garmin website is superb. Comprehensive stats.
Size of display. Too small to read without reading glasses.
