Nextar M3-03

Nextar's $129 M3-03 GPS turns up the heat on the entry-level competition, offering features galore at an unbelievable price.

Solid features for an inexpensive, entry-level model. Text-to-speech conversion. Multisegment routing. Safety alerts.

Limited POI database, search capabilities. Mounting bracket provides limited adjustment options.

Nextar M3-MX GPS Review

Today we are going to check out a GPS device from Nextar called the M3-MX. The device is packed with maps of the US and Mexico. The full featured unit is compact and works well. If you are looking for a nice GPS device that has good maps the Nextar...

Do Not buy any Nextar Products

Great Features

Lasted only a month, charge port went bad, returned to Nextar, received a refurbished unit with out dated software, Non Existent customer support, don't respond to emails, they don't return Phone messages. Spend a little more and buy a name brand. I...

It works.

My wife bought me one of these thinking for $50.00 what could we lose. Turns out we lost half the price of a competent GPS. The only reason I gave it 2 dots is because it does work. If this is all you can afford, save your money until you can afford an...

It will get you from point A to point B. Is flexible about excluding road sections. Wide variety of routing options and screen colors. Fairly fast to acquire satellites and I've never had it lose lock unless I was in a tunnel or parking garage....

Voice distorts badly when volume is turned up. Battery life is very short off charger, even when it worked. Maps were old. No way to update maps despite Nexar claiming for over a year there was going to be. Customer service is a cruel joke. Battery...

No love for this little thing?

Running iGO 8.3 nicely now. Available from navngo.com. The GPS receiver is ordinary, not one of the sexy high-sensitivity ones. Can't really fault it for that.

Inexpensive. Good loud speaker

Short power cord. Built in software is difficult to use. The supplied maps are missing a whole country. It's supposed to play MP3 files but can't take a big SD card. It's limited to 2GB SD, with no support for SDHC ; Manufacturer support is nonexistent

Good for the Money

I used this for over a year while I traveled the Gulf Coast area for work, and it worked great for me (simply point A to point B & I don't used it for POI). Now, my wife uses this in the Houston area, and she likes it as well. We use our cell phone GPS...

Great Value ; Easy to use ; Good volume ; Finds position in 30 to 60 seconds ; Durable (I've dropped mine a couple times) ; Mounting works good (even after 2 years) ; Recalculates quickly

Missing a lot of advanced features of other GPS devices & difficult to upgrade the maps. If you live in a city with many new roads, this may not be the right one for you

Poor Customer Service

I'm very disappointed in the Customer Service provided by Newegg. The Unit I purchased was advertised as having maps of USA and Canada pre-loaded. No where was it mentioned that I may get a GPS not loaded with the promosed software. As I travel to...

Plan on exchanging and hope for newer year model

For the price, it is a unit that will work to get you around in an area that you are somewhat familiar with. Without the map upgrade you are left guessing where you are if you do not know the area you are visiting and it has changed in the last two...

AS with the other two reviews, the unit works as advertised. Recalculates route rapidly and voice is legible. Clear image and route both day and night. Easy to enter the information. Easy menus to navigate. So far it has an average battery life of...

The unit i received was built in '08. The map and firmware need updated. I contacted NEXTAR as instructed on the owner manual and they will not upgrade. Not sure how they are going to honor the warranty either. According to the NEXTAR customer support...

Great Value in a GPS

If you want a basic GPS to get you places, this is a great option. It's easy to use, has a descent database and map system, and accurately gives you non intrusive directions. Recalculation works seamlessly. While I am sure there are better higher end...

Connects to satellites quickly ; Accurate distances and speed reported ; Relatively easy to use ; Simple, easy to read interface ; Good build quality ; Well featured for the price ; Reads street names ; Good directions, good warning and progress bars

Mine was manufactured in Oct 08, bought in Nov 09 ; Outdated firmware and maps, no easy updates available ; Lacks features of higher end models ; Graphics only mediocre
