The TomTom GO 930 delivered some of the best routes we found; its lack of integrated traffic service is its biggest drawback.
IQ Routes feature lets you find faster routes ; Lots of extras, including iPod controls
Doesn't include traffic receiver or service
All of those extras are nice, but they pale in comparison to the stellar IQ Routes technology. First and foremost, a GPS should get you where you want to go--and get you there quickly. The TomTom GO 930 succeeds at doing just that

When it comes to in-car GPS, TomTom has always been of the philosophy that its products should be about navigation first. The company doesn't spend much time fussing over extras like multimedia, but rather focuses energy on navigation tools that will...
The TomTom GO 930 offers address entry via voice as well as lane assistance and 3D renderings of complex intersections. The portable navigation system also has optimized route calculation based on historical traffic data; text-to-speech functionality;...
The voice command feature on the GO 930 isn't the most accurate, and often it's just easier to enter addresses using the onscreen keyboard. The lane guidance feature is only available for major highways and not all roadways. There's also no dashboard...

Lots of Features and Decent Performance. Lackluster Voice Recognition, and TomTom's Map Screen Needs Updating.

Although the current trend for GPS devices in making them all-in-one entertainment centers may lessen their navigational abilities, this is not the case with TomTom. The TomTom GO 930 GPS continues to perpetuate the manufacturer's philosophy that a GPS...
If you have a family or intend to share your GPS with others, the 930's size is small and favorable for easy transport between vehicles. The 930 measures 3.3 inches tall by 4.7 inches wide by 1 inch thick. It weighs in at 7.7 ounces. While small, the...

Each year new GPS devices come out and each year the companies that make them add features that they think you need. About two years ago I reviewed the TomTom 910, which was a capable GPS. Now it is time to see if the 930 is worth an upgrade.

First Toughts If we look back in time just a few years ago we see that the GPS was still quite basic with simple instructions and graphics on how to drive. These days the GPS holds high end graphics, FM transmitters, music players, Bluetooth and video...

The 930 has a 4.3″ wide touch screen, pre-loaded maps of the U.S., Canada and Europe, and text-to-speech. The latter feature means that you'll hear “turn left on Oak Street” rather than just “turn left in 1/4 mile.” It also includes Bluetooth for...
