Traeger can more than take on the king of flat-top grills, but it will cost you.
Built to last Great accessories available Consistent temperature when cooking
Too pricey Trash chute gets in the way
The Flatrock is not cheap. At $900, it puts itself squarely in the premium griddle category alongside the Blackstone 28 XL, one of that company's higher-end offerings. The 28 XL has about 19 square inches more cooking space than the Flatrock, but the...

Heat is even and responsive Ample space makes it easy to cook an entire meal
Setup is a little tricky Initial seasoning takes a while; factor in another hour of setup for this
The grease trap, slant of the griddle top itself, simple propane tank holder, the fuel level light and the small burner lights that indicate when one is on or off all come together to make the experience of using the Flatrock intuitive, simple and...

There's definitely a Traeger preimum, so it really comes down to whether or not there are enough bells and whistles for you to justify the price.
Excellent wind protection Even heat distribution Fuel sensor Folding side shelves
Grease drain location
I was very impressed with the Traeger Flatrock. I certainly think that Traeger are going to be able to compete with Blackstone and Pit Boss, who I think are currently leading the griddle market. Now it’s alot of money to spend on a griddle, especially...
