AIAIAI TMA-2 modular headphone review: You'll pay a steep price to build your own headphone

 

This customizable, modular headphone sounds good, but has some quirks that mar its overall appeal.

Modular design makes upgrade and replacement parts a breeze ; Very good sound, especially in wired mode ; Supports the aptX HD codec

There are some annoying quirks related to this modular design ; The plastic parts and mediocre design don't line up with the $350 price tag ; Hands-free microphone can become hidden inside the ear cup

AIAIAI’s TMA-2 modular headphone will appeal to those who want a good-sounding pair of headphones that they can easily customize, upgrade, and get replacement parts for over time, and are willing to tolerate a pedestrian design and plastic materials....

Great dj headphones!

 

I first bought the "tma-1" few years ago. Coming from a well known "HD25", I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was amazed by the sounds of it: huge bass, less "high" than the HD25 but I find it is perfect for electronic music! The first model (tma-1)...
