Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Review

Accurate bass depth and ideal high-frequency clarity ; Comfortable, secure over-ear fit ; Ships with three detachable cables of varying lengths

Plastic-heavy build ; Not for those seeking a modern (boosted) bass response

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones give equal attention to the lows, mids, and highs, which makes them ideal for studio use.

Review: Audio-Technica ATH-M50x

The new ATH-M50x has the same sound as the previous version, but with a few added features.

Fantastic sound. Made for music production, but also great for critical listening. If you're seated and working, they're comfortable enough to wear all day. New version of these classic cans now features three detachable cables: one long, one short,...

No in-line remote or phone controls on the cables. Even with the new mobile-friendly short cable, the big and bulky over-the-ear design isn't entirely mobile-friendly. They fold, but not much, so they're tough to travel with. Probably too heavy for...

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x: Stellar sequel to one of our favorite pairs of headphones (review)

They cost a bit more than the previous model and still don't have a cable with controller and microphone, but the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are among the best-sounding you'll find for less than $200.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass. They're also very comfortable and have slightly more cushiony earcups along with a detachable-cord...

There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls and the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use.

Quibbles aside, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are a modestly improved version of the already spectacular model they're based on, and among the best-sounding pairs you'll find for less than $200.

The 3 Best Audio-Technica Headphones of 2020: Reviews

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are the best Audio-Technica headphones for audio quality that we've tested to date. These closed-back over-ears have a very accurate, neutral audio reproduction that makes them suitable for a wide range of music genres.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x HEADPHONES

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are great sounding closed-back headphones for critical listening. They have an exceptional reproduction of the bass, mid, and treble range and they feel sturdy and durable enough to last you a while. However, their studio...

Excellent, balanced audio reproduction. ; Sturdy and comfortable build.

Slightly leaky. ; Poor noise isolation. ; No buttons or audio control options.

Audio Technica ATH-M50x Review: One of the best got better - MySmartPrice

On an average, casual music lovers seek a certain kind of oomph and pronounced bass response from headphones. On the other hand, audio professionals yearn for headphones possessing balanced and neutral sound. It's not often that any particular...

Slightly tight, proves uncomfortable on extended use ; Leather pads lack ventilation; lead to sweaty, clammy ears ; Regular Aux cables not supported

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones Review

Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.

Simply put, these are fantastic headphones and they're everything we want in a moderately priced pair of over-ear headphones. Yes, these are a virtual carbon copy of the beloved ATH-M50, but the changes that Audio-Technica did make are smart updates to...

The ATH-M50X By Audio Technica

Audio Technica have been rolling out the “X” series for around a year or so which basically means old classics have been given a bit of a face lift and some tuning to keep them relevant in the face of some pretty stiff competition.

I would recommend these cans based on how they compare with other closed headphones I have tried in their price range. They are among the best closed headphones I have heard for the price and if I wanted cans with good bass and clear highs, these are...

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones - Making a Great Product Better

The Audio Technica ATH-M50x professional monitors are the updated version of the popular ATH-M50 headphones. We test drive this set to find out if the M50 has a worthy successor.

Comfortable ear-cups for long hours of listening ; Good passive noise cancelling ; Accurate audio performance ; Great value

Needs to be powered by an amp for best performance

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x offers excellent performance for its sub-S$300 price tag. The level of detail the headphones are able to resolve is impressive, and you really can’t fault them for sounding too clinical if the emphasis is on being accurate....
