Grado SR60e HEADPHONES

The Grado SR60e are subpar headphones for everyday, casual use. They have an above-average but sharp sound quality and an open design that gives them a wide soundstage compared to most on-ears. However, they leak a lot and don't block any noise....

Above-average, open sound reproduction. ; Lightweight, comfortable on-ear design.

Poor noise isolation, by design. ; Flimsy, plasticky build. ; Easily falls off your head.

Grado SR60e

The best sounding headphones at £80

Excellent sound quality ; Great value

Supremely leaky ; Sound gets a bit harsh at high volume ; No good for portable use

The Grado SR60e are some of the best sounding sub-£150 headphones, making their £79 price all the more remarkable. It’s just a shame they are no use as a portable pair.

The Grado SR60e headphones are the latest version of the legendary SR60s, long considered one of the best budget sets around. The SR60s have neither been the most comfortable headphones nor the most feature-packed, but they tend to win on old-school...

Excellent sound and value for the money!

About me: I'm 39 years old. I do have some hearing loss and suffer from mild tinnitus. I'm a metal head and listen all forms of hard rock to extreme metal. I've always liked music, but just recently got into more hi-end audio and equipment. Enough...

Basic, well built, comfortable, sound quality

Not portable, cable to long

Consumer review (head-fi.org)

Cheap no bells & whistles, money goes purely to audio.

I was sort of ignoring of Grados thinking they'd just be your typical treble blaster with non-existant bass and the build quality sort of threw me off. But at $79 I said what the heck, I need to try some Grados and then I could at least say I have...

Relatively inexpenisve, huge bang for your buck, treble energy without too much sibilance, Good bass for it's style, Smooth mids. Pads change sound

Not comfortable for long sessions, Cheap plastic on ear cups, treble can be sibilant on certain recordings

Best headphones I've ever owned and I've tried lots.

The sound quality is superb across all types of music genres. They're also very comfortable to wear and have a great retro look. Accessories and spares are also readily available. I have a smart case to store them in and easily replaced the ear pads...
