Panasonic RP-HTX7 review

Panasonic probably isn't one of the brands you associate with value electronics, but when it comes to headphones, the company has shown that it has several models that deliver excellent bang for the buck, including the Panasonic RP-HTX7 monitor...

The Panasonic RP-HTX7s are affordable entry-level over-the ear headphones that fit comfortably, are relatively lightweight, and sound very good for the money. They also don't leak sound, and their retro styling is more hit than miss.

They're slightly brash; there's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls.

While their sound and design may not appeal to everyone, the Panasonic RP-HTX7s are excellent entry-level over-the-ear headphones that are a good bargain.

Panasonic RP-HTX7P-RS

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The Panasonic RP-HTX7P-RSs are a decent set of beginner headphones. They don’t offer the sort of clarity or audio quality you’d find in a more expensive pair, but for $30, it’s hard to complain. We think they’re very appropriately priced for what they...

Panasonic RP-HTX7E-C review

Opinion was divided in the Shopper office over the self-consciously retro style of Panasonic's RP-HTX7E-C headphones.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

You will never find better "inexpensive" headphones than these.

These are awesome. You will never get more bang for your buck than these Panasonic headphones. The throwback style was not why I bought them. They LOOKED durable. And they are so far! The only thing that breaks on them is the cord after MONTHS of kid...

Durability, Sound quality for the money, Sound volume for the money, Fit completely over my ears, Comfort, Simplicity

The only way to improve these without truly moving into a new price bracket is to replace the cord with a jack. I'd also like a mic and mic jack.

Absolutely unmatched in this price point

I did way more research when buying these than I probably should have, but I'm glad I did. I was initially looking at Beats, Sol and Sennheiser - among others. After trying a few different models, I honestly wasn't happy with the quality of the Beats...

Super lightweight, ultra comfy, excellent bass and highs with no muddying. Sound-tight; the entire world disappears with these on.

Some may wish it had a mic for phone calls. Definitely plastic.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Amazing sound, but really poor durability

It's hands down the best sound you can get for under 50$. Also, it looks really nice with this retro/aviator looking. And it's really cool how you move the actual earcups instead of moving the band to adjust your earcups.

That stupid whire! My friend pushed me last week and the jack broke in two pieces! It's a shame that in 2012 they don't put some detachable cables!

extreme clarity

amazing. regardless of price. deep bass, crisp highs, distinguish every single note from every instrument. buying more for gifts.

green only? they are lightweight but not small. i think the trade-off for noise cancellation is worth the bulk.
