Razer Barracuda X Review

USB-C dongle works with PC, Android phones, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation ; Strong audio performance ; Clear microphone ; Light, comfortable fit ; Bundled with lots of cables

No carrying case or pouch for cables or dongle ; No Bluetooth or wireless connectivity for Xbox or iPhone ; Doesn't feel quite as solid as other Razer headsets

The Razer Barracuda X is an incredibly flexible wireless gaming headset with a USB-C adapter that easily connects to PCs, Android phones, and the Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation consoles.

Razer Barracuda X review

The Razer Barracuda X is a solid 4-in-1 wireless gaming headset with software stuck behind a paywall

Comfortable ear cups ; Solid gaming and music performance ; Works wirelessly with almost every system ; USB Type-C charging

Cheap plastic design ; No included audio software

The Razer Barracuda X features solid audio performance in a comfortable design, but its cheap materials and lack of free software are low points.

Razer Barracuda X Wireless Review

The Razer Barracuda X Wireless are budget-friendly headphones with a gaming-oriented design. They come with a detachable boom microphone that can transmit your v...

Good noise handling performance. Low latency. Excellent imaging performance. Comfortable fit. Over 24-hour continuous battery life.

No carrying case included. No companion app. No sound customization features. Leak some noise. Bulky design. Poor noise isolation.

The Razer Barracuda X are satisfactory for neutral sound. Out-of-the-box, they have a fairly neutral, though slightly warm sound profile that adds a little extra thump and punch in the bass range. However, higher frequencies of vocals and lead...

No wireless connectivity for Xbox ; Dongle can cover other ports on PC ; Dongle can be a bit uncomfortable for mobile gaming ; No case or easy way to store dongle

Dongle design aside, the Razer Barracuda X is a decent-sounding wireless gaming headset that works with just about every platform. It is also lightweight, has great battery life, and is very reasonably priced.

Razer Barracuda X review

The Razer Barracuda X is an inexpensive and versatile wireless gaming headset, which plays nicely with PC, PlayStation and Switch, but has few bells and whistles.

Works with PC, PlayStation and Switch ; Simple, intuitive controls ; Clear mic

No customization options ; Plain design ; Workmanlike sound quality

also costs $100, and lets you manipulate a variety of software options. The Arctis 1 Wireless is probably a better headset all around, but the Barracuda X is simpler to use. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether that simplicity is worth...

Excellent, comfortable, and muted design. ; Reliable 2.4GHz dongle with ultra-low latency and no drivers to install ; Nice price ; 3.5mm wired option ; Type-C charging ; Lots of cables and accessories in the box

Razer Barracuda X review: an affordable gaming headset with insanely good sound

The Razer Barracuda X offers high-quality audio with a more stripped-back design

Fantastic sound quality ; 20-hour battery life ; Simple setup

No Bluetooth support ; You can’t use it wirelessly with Xbox ; Lacks desktop software

Often high-quality gaming headsets come at a steep price, but the Razer Barracuda X actually doesn't cost over the odds. For your money, you get impressive, accurate audio across all types of games and even music, as well as hours of wear without any...
