Sennheiser HD 429s

The Sennheiser HD 429s headphone pair delivers wonderful audio to the sub-$100 price range—but if you're looking for mega-bass or gobs of accessories, look elsewhere.

Excellent audio performance with solid bass response and crisp highs. Lightweight, comfortable fit. Inline remote control and microphone for mobile devices.

One-button remote lacks volume control. No accessories aide from cable adapter. Design doesn't fold for travel.

At $90, the Sennheiser HD 429s is a solid deal—it delivers excellent audio performance in a comfortable fit. It's lacking in the extras department, and the remote and un-foldable design aren't the most user-friendly decisions. But if you want a...

Cheap, don't work well

I would not purchase again.

- They fit around my ears - The sound quality is alright

- The Big One: the connection is bad; I have to fiddle with the headphones connection to the cord in order to hear through both sides - Feel light and cheap

Great value, very light and comfortable

Great for anyone who wants to listen to music and also handle phone calls easily. Super light and comfortable.

Bought as a Christmas present, on holiday sale. Recipient is very happy! I tried these for a few minutes, compared to more expensive Sony MDR V6 and MDR 7506. These are lighter, and very comfortable. Sound is almost as good as the Sonys and better than...

Deep bass could be better, for example "Ophelia" on the Natalie Merchant live album. It's still good, just not on a par with higher end phones, but for the price it is more than good enough.

Sounds great with a bit of EQing

I got these after my 8 year old, daily use Sennheiser HD 202's started shorting out. I was a bit concerned about spending twice as much as it would cost to buy a new pair of HD 202's but it seems these are a little better in just about every aspect....

Clean, clear, flat sound and comfortable on the ears. I was also surprised to discover that the "powerful bass" doesn't mean that the headphones have arbitrarily inflated lows, so things still sound pretty even.

A "flat" response is desirable in headphones, but I feel like this one has a bit of a peak on the mids. In order to listen to music at a high enough volume to be happy with the bass response, I had to scoop out mids from 250Hz to 2KHz.

Satisfied with purchase

Am very happy with the two i purchased. I use them when working out and when doing training in a noisy environment. They cut out a lot of the ambient noise...but not all...so I can maintain aware of my surroundings when out on the streets.

Simple, able to wear when taking calls

Headphones

Bought these for gaming and they are more than adequate for that purpose and do a reasonably good job listening to music. There are much better sets for music and a lot worse sets for either function.

Fit well, good sound, good price, so far appear to be well constructed.

Sound not as good as a higher priced set, but not tinny

Average headphones but good value

Comparing to my 4 year old Klipsch Reference ONE headphones, I wanted a reasonably priced pair of headphones I can use at work. When comparing the sound output, the Sennheiser is clean but about 40% as efficient as the Klipsch. This is very surprising...

Great value

low quality output ; volume needs to be set very high
