You'll forget all about active noise cancellation when you hear the detailed audio these headphones produce.
25-hour battery life ; Balanced sound profile ; Very comfortable
Overly-sensitive touch controls ; Extremely thin carrying pouch ; No active noise cancellation
We listed the lack of active noise cancellation as a "con," but given the audio performance of these wireless cans, some audio fanatics will actually consider that a "pro."

This Beats Studio Wireless competitor has a lot to like about it, including strong performance, a sturdy design and touch controls.
The Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless is a well-designed, comfortable over-ear wireless headphone that offers exciting, dynamic sound with quality bass. Battery life is strong at 25 hours of music playback; features highlights include dual microphones,...
The nylon carry "pouch" is skimpy; has a tendency to make songs that have a grittier edge sound harsher.
The Sennheiser Urbanite XL is a well-designed, dynamic-sounding Bluetooth headphone that works well with a lot of music -- but not quite everything.

Sennheiser's Urbanite line is designed to have a little more urban flare to it and appeal to the Beats audience. This model looks very similar to the wired Urbanite XL that we liked, but this model gives you the option of going wired or wireless and...

The Sennheiser Urbanite XL Bluetooth headphones deliver a balanced sound signature, but the wireless control panel suffers from design flaws.
Powerful, balanced audio performance with crisp highs and rich lows. Detachable cable with inline controls for wired, passive use.
Control panel on right earcup isn't laid out very well. Not for those seeking massive bass response.
As we observed with the wired Urbanite XL, the sound signature of the Urbanite XL Wireless is dynamic and powerful, but reserved for a headphone pair marketed as a massive bass experience. If you're looking for bigger bass from wireless headphones,...

It's a little bit of a departure for Sennheiser, which has staked out more of an audiophile audience in the past. But Beats has had such a profound impact on the market that Sennheiser's decided to come out with a headphone with a little more flair...
The Sennheiser Urbanite XL is a well-designed, comfortable to wear over-ear headphone that offers exciting, dynamic sound with quality bass. There's an integrated remote/microphone for calls (both an Android and iOS version of the headphone is available).
The nylon carry "pouch" is skimpy.
The Sennheiser Urbanite XL is a well-designed Beats competitor that costs less and sounds as good or better.

Sennheiser goes after the Beats audience with a hipper more fashionable full-size headphone that costs less.

The Sennheiser Urbanite XL headphone pair offers a refined audio experience in a stylish design.
Crisp, refined audio performance with a clear, distortion-free bass response. Extremely comfortable. Stylish design.
Light on accessories. Not for those seeking booming bass.
Basically, the Urbanite XL isn't about big bass—it's about refined bass. If you're looking for a whopping amount of deep bass, both the Beats Solo 2 and the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 should satisfy you demands. If the balance of the Urbanite XL is what...

In an effort to appeal to a younger audience, Sennheiser's Urbanite XL Wireless headphones ($299) offer a heaping helping of bass, which should please thump-junkies everywhere. To match the new sound, the over-ear cans have a playful but durable design...
Fun, durable design ; Solid battery life ; Warm, full audio
Loses audio details on certain songs and genres
The Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless Headphones add serious bass to the company's signature sound and offer up to 25 hours of battery life.

The latest over-ear headphones from Sennheiser promise 'massive bass and clear treble' – do they deliver?
Robust build ; Decent noise isolation ; Powerful bass
Relaxed delivery doesn’t get the best out of music ; Not the final word in timing
The XLs look like big, uncompromising brutes, but they sound relaxed and unfussy. A good option

Go wireless with handy features like a touchpad and NFC
If you can afford the price, the Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless headphones provide decent sound over Bluetooth offering punchy bass without going over the top. There are handy features such as NFC, a touchpad for control and a microphone for calls,...
