Tritton AX 180

The Tritton AX 180 is a well-made gaming headset, but it isn't anything special and its sound quality pales when compared with similarly priced dedicated headphones.

Simple to set up for PCs. In-line remote and breakaway cable are handy.

Middling sound for non-gaming audio. Setting it up with a game console is complicated when compared with PC setup.

Tritton AX 180

Today we look at the Tritton AX 180s, an entry-level gmaing headset for the XBox and PS3. While these don't exactly set the world on fire, they do offer a good experience with fair durability for the price. If you're looking for a headset that you can...

Entry-level price, middle of the road performance.

Tritton AX180 Gaming Headphones Review

A great sounding messy headphones.

superb sound in music and games, great looks, compatibility with current consoles, good directional sense

can get messy with wires, USB dependent

The second major problem with the headphones is that it needs a USB power source. It shouldn’t be much of a problem with consoles since you would hardly use up all the slots, but if you plan to use it on the PC, it will gobble up one of your USB ports...

Tritton AX 180 - Review

Very recently we have reviewed a Tritton AX 720 and we loved it so much that we had to review the mini version of AX, AX 180. AX 180 is a gaming earphone set which has alot of potentials. Just like AX 720, AX 180 can be connected to the Playstation3,...

Simple to use ; Light weight ; Great sound ; Multiple compatibility ; Independent sound control

None that we could find ;

The AX 180 is a wonderful product for any gamer or entertainment nut out there. Having said that let me state that, while Alex is the main reviewer, I couldn't help but get my hands on this. After seeing the AX 720 product in action I had to try it out...

Tritton AX 180 Universal Gaming Headset Review

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Cheap Plastic, good sound.

One big flaw in the design of this microphone is the plastic around the swivel for the ear cups. The plastic is a strong, but inflexible type, which means that if it's stressed, it breaks. It broke while I was taking the headphones off. $70 straight...

Great sound. Microphone picks up even the slightest murmur. Comfortable. Quick disconnect on control box saved my cord multiple times. Functionality to combine audio inputs and raise/lower sound as needed. ear cups swivel for easy storage and comfort

Cheap Plastic broke shortly after a year's ownership

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Great sound, shoddy construction

I love these headphones. But having lost two of them in such a short time, I simply can't justify spending this much money on the same thing all over again.

I have never been happier with the comfort, features, and sound quality of headphones. This blows away pretty much anything I've ever been able to find in any store on all counts. Everything from the ample size of the circumaural phones, to the...

I've owned two of these headsets, and both of them have had the plastic body break after just a few months ; I thought, when paying $90 for a pair of headphones, that I would receive a product which could withstand careful handling, and several hours...
