Samsung's best sounding soundbar ever also happens to be its simplest.
Clear and brilliantly detailed upper register ; Excellent presence and balance across frequencies ; Simple and intuitive design ; As impressive for music as movies/TV ; Affordable and upgradeable
Lacks the gut punch of a separate sub ; Skimps on the surround sound decoding ; Occasionally icy in upper midrange
Samsung’s new Sound+ soundbar is a dream machine for those looking to supplement their TV sound simply and easily, with no extra parts or futzing with the remote. While we did miss the extra rumble afforded by a dedicated subwoofer, those looking to...

In the service of simplicity and sleek desgn, Samsung's bar drops the wireless sub often found at this price. So how does it compare?
The Samsung HW-MS650 offers very good music replay and an excellent array of features, especially for Samsung TV owners. The sound bar features HDMI in and out with 4K support, and its array of Wi-Fi features are second-to-none.
Lightweight bass leads to less-intense sound with movies. Wi-Fi streaming your TV's sound is more hassle than just connecting a cable.
The Samsung HW-MS650 boasts advanced technology and a pleasing sound, but can't match the bass of competitors with separate subwoofers.

Samsung's Sound+ HW-MS650 ($399.99) is a three-channel soundbar that uses nine built-in speakers (three tweeters and six mid/bass drivers), each with a dedicated amplifier. Samsung touts the HW-MS650 as a one-box solution that doesn't require a...

The HW-MS6500 is a curved version of Samsung's superb HW-MS650 soundbar, which earned itself TrustedReviews' prestigious Editor's Choice badge. That's a tough act to follow, but given this is practically the same soundbar in a curved suit, I'm...
Its appeal is limited to curved TV owners, but there’s no denying the HW-MS6500’s quality. It conjures up a huge soundstage and masses of bass without a subwoofer in sight, and backs it up with a wealth of features and simplified setup.

Hailing from Samsung's new Sound range, this soundbar is a single-body affair that doesn't rely on an external subwoofer to deliver deep bass. Instead it uses an array of custom drivers and some nifty distortion-cancelling tech to give movies some...
With oodles of features and massive movie sound, the HW-MS650 is Samsung’s best single-body soundbar yet and a fantastic choice if you can’t accommodate a separate subwoofer.

Traditional hi-fi speakers are out, soundbars are in
Fantastically powerful sound ; Physics-defying bass handling ; Supports lots of sources ; No external subwoofer necessary
Slightly limited stereo effect ; UK price is unfairly high ; It's a bit too tall for some TVs ; No Dolby Atmos support
Samsung's HW-MS650 soundbar was one of the best soundbars of 2017. It is fantastic, achieving not just a wall-shaking volume, but great quality of sound that you've no right to hear from a one-body audio product.

A stunning performance from a single-enclosure soundbar that sounds superb with all types of content. Multiroom-ready and HDMI-equipped, it justifies its price tag. Sub-bass fiends might want the optional sub, though.

Sound is invisible. Sound bars are not. People want sound bars to be invisible. The Samsung HW-MS650 makes the subwoofer disappear. You've got to start somewhere.

The HW-MS650 is Samsung's most advanced 2017 sound bar. It features special 'distortion cancelling' technology - Samsung claims that this means it can produce deep bass tones without the need for a separate subwoofer. We sent it to our test lab to put...

The Samsung HW-MS6500 is a sleek curved sound bar with wireless mutli-room capabilities. It could be the one-stop solution for all your home audio needs, but only if it manages to make films, TV and music sound great. We sent this sound bar to our test...
