Keychron is well known for its wireless keyboards like the K6 and K2, but the Keychron Q1 is a new class entirely. While it drops wireless support, it offers immense customization options, premium build quality, and a great introduction to custom...
Durable aluminum body ; Hot-swapping supported ; Easy access to plentiful accessories ; Unique layout
Layout software is somewhat disappointing

The Keychron Q1 is a mechanical keyboard built for the enthusiast who wants to customize everything down to the switches while avoiding the mess of soldering keys.
Hot swappable keys ; Changable key caps ; Integrated volume knob ; Fully programmable ; RGB ligthing well executed
Heavy ; Wired only ; Complicated lighting controls

You don't have to build this keyboard yourself, which makes it wonderful for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Layout includes directional keys, kit comes with everything you need, keycaps and switches are swappable
Open source software is limited, no height adjustment available, aluminum build might be too heavy for some

Everything! (I know that’s a cop out) ; Heft and aesthetics are awesome ; No Bluetooth, no batteries, instant response and great typing experience ; Worth every penny!
You’ll definitely want a palm rest as it does sit up off the desk a bit

Custom, hot-swappable QMK mechanical keyboard setting a high bar
+ Gasket-mount design ; + Solid build ; + Assembled version has well-lubed mechanical switches ; + Screw-in stabilizers ; + QMK/VIA support
- Top plate scratches easily when swapping switches ; - Louder than expected ; - Heavy
The Keychron Q1 brings premium keyboard enthusiast features, like a gasket-mounted design and open-source software, at an attainable price, setting a high bar.
