HyperX Alloy FPS review: The esteemed headset manufacturer turns out a solid new peripheral

It's not quite the industry-wide shakeup that ensued with the arrival of the HyperX Cloud, but the HyperX Alloy is a fine debut.

Very slim footprint ; Detachable mini-USB cable and travel bag for portability ; Cherry MX switches

Only a few types of Cherry MX switches available ; Few stand-out features ; Detachable cable is too short for standing-desk purposes

It’s not quite the industry-wide shakeup that resulted from the HyperX Cloud, but the HyperX Alloy is a fine debut. It’s a competitively priced board with an attractive design, which is good enough for me.

HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The HyperX Alloy FPS Keyboard is a sturdy, minimalist gaming keyboard in design and features, but won't appeal to gamers who prize personalization.

Compact size. Affordable. Does not require software. Supports USB pass-through and features charging port. Comes with convenient mesh carrying case. Optional red textured key caps are attractive and easy to put on.

No macro keys or dedicated media controls. Limited color options.

Sturdily made, attractive, and portable, the HyperX Alloy FPS is an affordably priced and high performing for a mechanical gaming keyboard. But is it the right keyboard for you? That hinges on whether you're okay with two factors: limited lighting...

HyperX Alloy FPS review: A simple, compact Cherry MX Blue mechanical gaming keyboard

Easy to use. Great performance. Multiple LED lighting options. USB passthrough for charging mobile devices

No macro customization. USB passthrough is for charging mobile devices only

The HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a solid, compact, and simple to use mechanical gaming keyboard that performs well with its Cherry MX switches.

HyperX Alloy FPS

The Alloy FPS is the first keyboard from the HyperX (now a separate brand from parent company Kingston) and, apparently, it's specifically designed for FPS players. It has Cherry MX Blue switches and a slim, minimal design – accompanied by a £100 price.

The HyperX Alloy FPS is great for all genres of gaming, and ideal for those on the move too. With a decent set of features considering its compact size, and its CherryMX Blue switches delivering an uncompromising and traditional typing feel, HyperX’s...

The HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Keyboard is a good thing in a small package (hands-on)

I've been using the new HyperX Alloy keyboard for a couple of weeks now. It sits in front of my monitor, turned at a slight angle to free up as much space as possible for the hand wielding my mouse. Nothing compares to range of motion for your mouse in...
