OCZ Alchemy series Illuminati Keyboard review

OCZ's peripherals are not something this memory and PSU manufacturer is well known for. It started with the Equalizer mouse, which was one of the best mice we have ever seen, completely on the level of competition twice as expensive. Although it was...

As with all Human Interface Devices, from mice and keyboards to OCZ’s NIA, there’s an obligatory getting used to period before you can surely say if you like something or not. We have been using OCZ’s Alchemy Illuminati as our primary keyboard for a...

Pretty good keyboard

The keys start to break in after a good bit of use on the keyboard. Some of my less used keys are pretty stiff but the ones I use frequently are pretty fluid now. A suggestion to OCZ for future models of this keyboard - make the backspace key full...

It's a good keyboard for the price range ; The backlighting is pretty even and the two color choices offer some customization ; The built in palm rest is nice ; The rubberized keys feel better than normal plastic keys ; Plug and play ; The small travel...

The keys are very stiff at first and without a strike directly on the center of the key it will not work ; The media keys (the previous/next song and the volume up/down) are counter intuitive. The previous song is above the next song button and the...

Blue/Red Illumination ; Illuminati... hope the Vatican takes offence ; Very nice design ; Price ; Adjustable illumination using the dial

Wasn't plug and play as stated, on my system at least ; The sound increase and sound desrease seem to be reversed

I'm wondering if I should buy a couple more, so if anything happens to this one, I won't have to settle for something else...

Plug and play, absolutely gorgeous, much less expensive than its peers. This is a shallow, rubber-coated laptop-style illuminated keyboard, which is exactly what I wanted. Don't mind the reviewers who say it needs to be brighter or angled differently,...

Occasionally the keys may stick a touch when you're first using it, but as you use it more it clears up. Mine shipped with some kind of grease on the key that I had to use mild detergent (sparingly) to remove. These are MINOR issues and the keyboard is...

It did come with a useless cd with drivers, not quite sure what point of it was, or if necessary.

Awesome price for what you are getting. Cool Illuminations, don't find the dimmer wheel to be an issue. Handy media and internet keys. Comfortable keyboard not sure if i like laptop style keys or not but I will adjust. But overall great buy from a...

Backspace is a bit small so can take a little getting used too, not happy i missed the free shipping by a week or so

Imperfect, but not so bad

I bought this keyboard because the reviews of much more expensive illuminated keyboards sounded no better, and I was willing to take a chance on this product for less money. I've been so pleased with my OCZ Vertex SSD that I thought I'd try another OCZ...

You get what you pay for, maybe even a little more ... the dual color (selectable) LED back-lighting is decent, but imperfect (as may be expected at this price range) -- a little unevenly lit, but not so bad -- I've seen worse (and at a higher price)....

Okay, the complaints about the odd location of the backspace and backslash keys are valid -- I don't like having to retrain my muscles -- not a deal breaker or end of the world -- but a slight hassle. The overly bright side-lighting can be managed...

Far Far East import

I have one of the ocz mice on one mini gaming rig , and couldn't be happier for 21 bucks. The keys on this keyboard are ok , a little tight but I assume they will free up a bit with use. there is just something about this usb resource thing that makes...

Well the keyboard looks nice , it has useful hotkeys with ; volume . The board has a nice rubber coating on the keys. the lights are fantastic in appearance , I didn't feel ; that the dimmer switch was to hard to turn , and thats where she ends folks....

1. The included instructions , should not have been included ; 2.It comes with a mini cd that has somekind of driver labeled , "Driver 1.0" . The driver seems to do nothing ; and sits in the start menu ? completeley confusing and useless ; 3.The...

Would be decent if it worked. Not good for OCZ's first foray into keyboards..

Nice finish, red/blue LEDs are gorgeous and adjustable by the convenient dial, aesthetically pleasing, and not cluttered

Enter key was defective. Would start a new paragraph by mistake every time I hit the backspace key, and when I did hit the enter key, it would get stuck
