Review Acer Aspire One 531 Netbook

Heir to the Throne? Acer already landed a direct hit with the fir

Attractive but subtle design; Very slim case weighing just 1220 grams; Good workmanship; Multi-touch touchpad; Bright display with good illumination; Low system noise in office use; Good sound production; Excellent battery life

Small numeric keys; Reflective display is problematic in use outdoors; High heat emissions possible under load

Everything that has the guts to be called a netbook, or not: Asus Eee1002HA, Samsung NC10. Rather less: Acer Aspire One D150.

Acer Aspire One 531 notebook

Acer has impressed on several occasions with its cut-priced netbooks, but its Aspire One lags behind rivals when it comes to quality and usability. The Aspire One 531 looks set to change this, with a highly attractive design, decent mobility and good...

Thin and neat design, build quality, bright screen

Keyboard could be larger, not revolutionary, average battery life

The Aspire One 531 doesn’t offer anything genuinely new, but it’s one of the nicest netbooks available when it comes to styling and quality. Although it comes in at the top end of the Aspire One range, it’s well equipped, with the option of 3G/HSDPA,...

Acer Aspire One 531 Pro review

Acer's latest is an austere looking netbook – but is there more to the 531 than meets the eye?

Functional rather than fun, but one of the best netbooks available for the price

Acer Aspire One 531 review

The original Acer Aspire One has proved one of the best selling netbooks, we hear, helped along by its competitive price circa-£200. That first model had a 9in screen and ran a friendly graphical Linux operating system; now we find Acer has kept the...

Unlike the original Aspire One, there’s less to get excited about by this me-too Windows netbook. But while it offers the usual roster of netbook facilities, there is the just-higher than average netbook speed performance, and the distinction of two...

Overpriced.

I've been impressed with the changes Acer has made recently, however this seems really overpriced to me... Go with the 11.6 incher instead. It'll be worth it.

I was sold the wrong netbook/ used

I was sold the last of its kind in the store. According to the clerk, it had 2gb ram and 250 gb hard drive. Took her word for it because she read it from her computer. Got it home, turned it on and checked. 1gb and 160gb, instead. Checked other RS...

You could get another 3g laptop but then again you would not be happy. I am an technology enthusiast and of course I had to have a netbook. My viao is getting a little bulky carrying around and its getting beat up in my bag, 15" core2 duo. Therefore,...
