Acer Aspire V7 Review

The Acer Aspire V7's strong performance and discrete graphics impress, but its extreme temperatures at load and so-so build quality make it difficult to recommend to buyers uninterested in gaming on the go.

The Acer Aspire V7 is all about power. In our performance tests it blows away most competitors by posting processor scores 20 percent higher than average and doubling the performance of Intel HD 4600 in 3D games. Only the and are quicker, but both...

Acer Aspire V7-482PG-6629

With discrete graphics, diverse port selection, excellent performance, and a reasonable price, the Acer V7-482PG-6629 is a top pick for midrange ultrabooks.

1080p HD touch screen. Discrete graphics. Full set of ports. Speedy wake-from-sleep and reboot times. Excellent multimedia and 3D benchmark results.

Only one USB 3.0 port. Some bloatware.

It has been a long time since we've awarded an Editors' Choice for midrange ultrabooks, because the space has been evolving over the past three years. Systems like the Lenovo IdeaPad U430 Touch have moved down in price with lower-resolution screens and...

Acer Aspire V7 review: An unassuming ultrabook with gaming chops

Acer makes a lot of laptops. So many that it's hard to pick a specific one out of a lineup. Some are amazing examples of top-notch design and engineering, such as the glass-clad Aspire S7 , while others are well-intentioned experiments, such as the...

The Acer Aspire V7 offers several configurations, including this one, with a hybrid hard drive, Nvidia GeForce 750M graphics, and a 1080p touch display.

The bland design and clunky touch pad don't feel like they belong on a $1,000-and-up laptop. A shallow keyboard makes productivity a chore.

Despite the low-rent exterior, the Acer Aspire V7 packs a lot of what we want into a reasonably priced 14-inch ultrabook, including a high-res touch screen, mainstream graphics, and plenty of ports.

Acer Aspire V7-582P-6673

The Acer Aspire V7-582P-6673 just meets Intel's updated ultrabook specs, but while it is functionally an ultrabook it is spiritually a desktop replacement laptop with a large 15.6-inch screen.

10-point multi-touch Large screen. SSD cache drive+500GB hard drive. 8GB of memory. 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi support. Four speakers with room-filling sound.

1,366 by 768 resolution a little low. Some bloatware. Some ports are inconveniently placed. Slippery keyboard.

The Acer Aspire V7-582P-6673 is a decent, middle-of-the-road laptop with a lot of good features, with not to many bad ones. Aside from the possible deal-breaker in the slippery keyboard, you should place the V7-582P-6673 on your shopping list if you...

Acer Aspire V7 review: This Ultrabook can play a decent game or two

Don't let the slim design fool you. This machine packs both a powerful CPU and a discrete graphics processor.

Bright, vibrant display ; 12GB of DDR3/1600 memory ; 24GB SSD cache ; Discrete Nvidia graphics processor

Poorly located power button ; Only one USB 3.0 port ; Single-band Wi-Fi adapter (2.4GHz only)

The Acer Aspire V7 has a few idiosyncrasies—primarily its poorly located ports and power button—but it delivers credible gaming performance in a superslim package.

Acer V7-482PG-9884 Review: Everything You Need

There's a careful balancing act that needs to be maintained when putting together any system. Cooling requirements need to be kept in check by size constraints, performance ties into both of those as well, and let's never forget the almighty dollar....

Review Acer Aspire V7-582PG-74508G52tkk Notebook

Touch to play. After reviewing the ultrabook-like Acer Aspire V5, we now put our hands on the Acer Aspire V7-582PG. The Full HD touchscreen is to ensure easy use of the Metro interface. The combination of a Core i7 ULV processor and Nvidia GeForce GT...

Slim and light casing; Decent build; Screen features good color reproduction; Good touch functionality; Gaming suitable due to GeForce GT 750M; Full HD resolution

Poor outdoor suitability due to the highly reflective touchscreen; Low performance in battery mode

The hybrid hard drive noticeably boosts the Aspire V7-582PG's performance in office applications.

Review Acer Aspire V7-582P-6673 Ultrabook

Stamina and Style? Acer's latest touchscreen-equipped Ultrabook m

Remarkably good battery life for its class; Attractive metal-plated case design; Responsive and accurate touchscreen; Large, comfortable touchpad surface; Very good integrated GPU performance; Good application performance; Reasonable surface temperatures

Glossy display with only middling brightness; Poor color reproduction; Low contrast ratio for its class; Keystrokes are short and unsatisfying; A bit cumbersome for an Ultrabook

The ULV GPU performance still exceeds the HD Graphics 4000 performance!

Acer Aspire V7 ultra-thin notebook

Acer's Aspire V7 is a fourth-generation Intel Core-based notebook that's large, but thin

Well built and looks good ; Long battery life ; Good overall performance

Low screen resolution ; Touchpad capabilities ; Keys are a little shallow and too smooth

Despite a couple of quirks with its input devices, and a low screen resolution, the 15.6in Acer Aspire V7 is a very interesting laptop that caught us a little by surprise. It's solid, good looking, performs well, and its battery life is long.
