Short Review Acer Aspire 7720G Notebook

DTR Entry-level solution. The Acer Aspire 7720 series's case has

Good look; Good interface equipment (DVI-D); Built-in webcam; User-friendly keyboard with clear layout; Low noise and temperature emissions

Uneven illumination; Moderate performance; Moderate sound, if volume is high

Review: Three 17-in. laptops provide big screens for low prices

Notebook too cramped? Try one of these (surprisingly affordable) big boys from Acer, Dell and Toshiba.

Best price, light travel weight, eSATA connector, multimedia controls with volume thumbwheel

Touchpad is hard to see, no Bluetooth or ExpressCard slot, keyboard flexes too much, screen wobbles

If this review were concerned with only one criterion, it would be easy to pick a winner. For overall features, the Aspire is head and shoulders above the rest, but it's heavy. Based on price, the Satellite has no equal, but its performance is hardly...

Acer TravelMate 7720G (7720G-602G50Mn)

It's funny that Acer has decided to release this desktop replacement notebook with the TravelMate name, because, unless you're Yao Ming's size, this t...

Plenty of storage space, 802.11 draft-n wireless networking, ran quietly and didn't get hot, very good battery life, both PC Card and ExpressCard slots

Lacks e-SATA ports, 17in screen only has a native resolution of 1440x900

A desktop replacement notebook with good speed and some versatile connectivity features that's also comfortable to use.

Acer Aspire 7720G-703G25Hn review

A budget-priced gaming machine offering comfort and a distinctive style

Solid performance ; Good screen ; Cheap

Chassis can get quite hot in use ; Styling is not to everyone's taste

For an undemanding, casual gamer, there's a lot here to like

Acer Aspire Gemstone 7720G laptop PC

The Acer Aspire Gemstone 7720G is more of a stay-at-home machine than a travel companion. Swapping performance for portability, it's more suited to static use.

The Acer Aspire Gemstone 7720G is a bit of brute to look at, but it's powerful and can even do a little bit of gaming. The inclusion of an HD DVD drive in this price range is impressive, although it's a shame the screen resolution doesn't allow you to...

Acer Aspire 7720 review

The Acer Aspire 7720 -- nicknamed 'Gemstone' -- is a beast, with a relatively high hardware spec, large widescreen display and weighing in at almost 4kg.

Terrific performance; large display; plenty of ports.

Ugly looks; poor battery life; heavy.

The Acer Aspire 7720 is a high powered machine crammed into an ugly plastic box. It's heavy with poor battery life, but give it some numbers to crunch and it'll have them done in no time
