Alienware 13

Think you need a hulking, insanely expensive gaming desktop for VR? Think again. The Alienware 13 is a truly portable, fairly affordable, high-performance VR-capable laptop with a vibrant QHD touch screen.

Excellent performance. Good battery life. Compact size and sleek design. Light for a gaming laptop. Premium build quality. Vibrant QHD touch screen. Plenty of ports, including USB-C with Thunderbolt 3.

13-inch screen may not appeal to all gamers. Fans get loud when gaming.

Conclusion If you're not put off by its screen size, Alienware 13 packs a lot into its small frame: VR capability, a beautiful QHD touch-screen display, ample ports, good battery life, smooth gameplay, and high build quality. It's heavier and less...

Alienware 13 OLED review: A brilliant-looking gaming laptop

This high-end gaming laptop adds a stunning OLED screen, for less than you might expect.

The OLED screen on this 13-inch gaming laptop looks amazing. Gaming performance is very good for a mainstream gaming laptop, and there's even an (expensive) option for adding VR-ready desktop graphics.

The display is not as finely tuned as high-end OLED televisions, the graphics options don't go past mainstream, and battery life while gaming is short.

For something truly different and eye-catching, the OLED display on this "limited edition" Alienware 13 gives it great visual punch, but keep in mind this is not a top-end gaming rig.

Alienware 13 OLED Review

The Alienware 13 puts the most dazzling laptop screen ever in a portable design with powerful graphics performance and excellent audio.

Supervivid OLED display; Great graphics performance for price; Excellent audio quality; Superb keyboard

CPU performance could be better; Bottom runs hot

Alienware 13 (Sub-$1000) Review

The Alienware 13 has a slick design and awesome lighting options, but the budget model's low-res display and middling gaming performance keep it from being a winner.

Compact, attractive design; Awesome lighting customization; Loud speakers; Decent battery life

Weak, low-res display; Runs hot; Middling gaming performance

Alienware 13 (GTX 960M) Notebook Review

Power Spike. Dell offers updated components for the Alienware 13. Let us find out if the Core i7-5500U and the GeForce GTX 960M are worth the investment.

Bright FHD IPS panel, Optional Graphics Booster, Latest hardware, Recovery USB stick, Relatively power conservative, Backlit keyboard, Compact chassis, Modest weight, Good battery life, Nice looks

High temperature and noise emissions in 3D mode, CPU is quite weak for gaming, Rubber surfaces are sensitive to smudges, The SSD write speeds are a little slow, Speakers could be better, Throttling at full load, A mere 2 GB of VRAM, Only one storage...

Overdue, yet not game-changing: the hardware upgrade for the Alienware 13 is sadly not what we were hoping for. Although the Core i7-5500U is superior to the Core i5-4210U in most cases, it cannot compete with gaming notebooks equipped with a quad-core...

Dell Alienware 13 Notebook Review

Small chassis, big performance? After products with 11 and 14-inches, the gaming experts from Alienware now offer a 13-inch product. Our article tries to focus on the question of whether a dual-core is sufficient for the GeForce GTX 860M and the...

Sophisticated port layout, Low power consumption, Display with IPS technology, Very good build quality, Transportable chassis, Comfortable keyboard, Nice illumination, Noble appearance, Moderate weight, Great battery runtimes

Core i5-4210U limits the performance of the GTX 860M, Speakers distort heavily at higher volumes, Only one storage drive, Very rough touchpad

Apart from the processor, which is debatable, Dell offers an excellent 13-inch notebook with the Alienware 13. Besides the build quality and the nice design the display in particular is a highlight. It is rare that we review such a high-contrast IPS...

Alienware 13 – Review

There aren't many names in gaming laptops bigger than Alienware. The Dell-owned brand has been at the top of the tree since 1997, and the firm has earned a reputation for producing expensive, extravagant machines.

Alienware’s latest laptop doesn’t fall foul of many of the firm’s previous mistakes – it’s not wildly overpriced and it’s not garish.

Alienware 13 Review Tim Schiesser

If you want a reasonably small and portable gaming laptop, the Alienware 13 is one of the leading options on the market. With its 13.3-inch display, the footprint of this laptop is smaller than a typical 15-inch laptop, and if you're willing to put up...

The GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060 models pack decent hardware at affordable prices. RGB lighting offers good customizability. Great keyboard and trackpad. Supports Windows Hello and Tobii eye-tracking.

A smaller form factor gaming laptop that’s not particularly portable, at least compared to its competitors. We wish it wasn't this heavy.
