Aorus X7v2 Review: Portability Meets Power

The Aorus X7v2 offers an unmatched level of performance and portability in an attractive eye catching design, but users will have to pay for this alluring combination.

Portable ; Attractive design ; Excellent Performance

Limited key depth ; Short battery life

Gigabyte Aorus X7 v2 - Fastest slim SLI gaming notebook

Gigabyte refreshed the Aorus X7 with a pair of the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M graphics chips for a significant boost in performance. But is top notch performance enough to keep it ahead of other new competitors? Find out how it fared in this review!

SLI graphics in a 22.9mm slim chassis ; Unique design ; Macro keys ; Sophisticated cooling system

Shallow keyboard ; Fingerprint magnet ; Reflective trackpad not practical ; Exclusion of NVIDIA Optimus affects portability and battery life

The Gigabyte Aorus X7 v2 has no match when it comes to graphics prowess as it is currently still the only slim SLI gaming laptop around. It has a gorgeous matte black finish and sexy non-conventional lines that will sure turn heads when you take it out...

Aorus X7 v2 gaming notebook

It's got killer guts that give it excellent graphics and storage performance

Triple SSDs in RAID 0 ; Dual GPUs in SLI ; Core i7, quad-core CPU

Keyboard could stand to be more solid ; Touchpad sometimes not exact in its movements ; Big unit to accommodate

When you need speed, the Aorus X7 v2 can deliver. It has dual GPUs, triple SSDs, a quad-core CPU, and it flies. It's super-slim considering all this good stuff is inside, but it is a wide unit that can be cumbersome to transport. Basically, put this...

Gigabyte Aorus X7 v2

Three SSDs, two GPUs and one Haswell processor. What's not to love?

Excellent games performance ; Innovative, fast SSDs ; Great in applications ; Slim and light design ; Punchy, well-balanced speakers

Poor battery life ; Mediocre keyboard ; Inconsistent build quality ; Very expensive ; Noisy and hot

The mid-range is crunchy withdecent depth, and the only real disappointment is the tinny high-end. We’d always recommend a headset but, at a push, the audio kit inside this machine is good enough for games – bassy but balanced, and with good volume.

Aorus X7 V2 power laptop review: Every gamer's dream

How's this for a gamer's dream. If there's one thing better than a decent graphics processor in a laptop, it's got to be two very decent graphics processors in the same machine. That's what the Aorus X7 v2 offers, a pair of nVidia GeForce GTX 860M...

The Aorus X7 v2 is a sturdily made all-metal gaming laptop that keeps its waistline to around 1in, even if it still tips the scales beyond 3kg. With its dual-GPU setup it proved itself the fastest gaming laptop in the group, albeit with an...

Happy

Researched and shopped for over 6 months, knew what I was getting with this regarding performance, really satisfied

typical OS tweaks gets cold-boot startup to less than 15 sec. Able to run games in ultra with decent fps, but fans do get noisy like a small keyboard vacuum. Change game graphics down to high or customized medium to high, cap at 30fps, and fans are quiet

intel wireless-N 7260 problems, in-game latency was horrible (+1500ms). not Gigabyte/Aorus issue. updated drivers, did registry edit, but I got best performance and behavior by disabling HT Mode

Solid laptop

I don't know why people complained about display. It is not the best in market, but it reasonably good. Another complain is about WiFi: Works perfect for me. Fan noise: It compare to other laptops, it has very nice cooling system. Yes, if you set the...

Extremely solid laptop ; very high quality built, in compare two MSI GS70 and MSI GE72 ; Very strong CPU and GPU ; Nice cooling system, my MSI GS70 cpu fan starts working when it loaded more than 20%, but it keep silent even for as high as 30

Heavy in compare to other SLIM gaming laptops (not in compare to bulky gaming laptops such as Alineware or MSI GT72, ...). with very heavy charger (maybe because it is 200 Watt, in compare to 150 Watt of other slim gaming laptops) ; Short battery life:...

7 Months in, issues now.

It really is a fantastic laptop when its working properly. Very smooth game play even on high settings, and for a gaming rig it dosent get that loud or hot (for a gaming rig...)

I've recently been having trouble with odd and end things. First the left side usb port stopped working (which I read another reviewer that had the same problem) and it would blue screen every so often. The latest thing is its not recognizing the sound...
