Asus N53SV-A1

The Asus N53SV-A1 desktop replacement laptop is a showcase of new technology that includes Intel's latest Sandy Bridge architecture, an Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics chip, and USB 3.0 ports.

Lightning fast quad-core Core i7 processor. Nvidia GeForce 540M chip makes it a viable gaming laptop. USB 3.0. Appealing design. Cavernous, fast spinning hard drive.

Poorly designed keyboard. No Blu-ray or higher resolution screen option. No option for bigger battery.

Asus N53SV

Excellent performance ; Large display

Only single-band, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi ; Weak touchpad and buttons

If speed is your passion, you'll like this all-purpose unit from Asus, but its input ergonomics are weak.

Review Asus N53SV Notebook

The new midrange. Asus promises pure multimedia entertainment with the reconfigured N53. Backstage: brand new Intel i7-2720QM quad core CPU, Nvidia GT 540M DirectX 11 graphics card (Optimus) and Bang&Olufsen ICEpower sound. Find out what the attractive...

Attractive design, Matt, high-end surfaces, Solid case, Excellent application performance, Good 3D performance, Always cool surfaces, Low noise office mode possible, Excellent soundscape, Sandy Bridge together with Optimus and a good midrange graphics...

Interfaces all in the front area, Spongy keys, Average display with reflective surface, Moderate battery life, A somewhat user-friendlier interface distribution and a higher quality display (should come with the final sample, according to asus)

ASUS N53SV Notebook Review

After all everything has been considered, the ASUS N53SV is a very well-rounded notebook with one glaring exception: the sound system. This is nothing you can't fix with a pair of external speakers or headphones though, so the poor sound quality...

Asus N53SV

The 15.6in Asus N53SV offers a dedicated graphics chip, Blu-ray drive and Core i5 processor in an attractive chassis for under £700.

Great all-round performance ; Good build and design ; Good built-in speakers

Mediocre display

A versatile machine that handles gaming, multimedia and productivity tasks equally well, the Asus N53SV offers excellent value and decent build quality. Its looks err on the serious side a bit more than is strictly necessary, but its design remains...

Asus N53SV

Sound quality better than the usual fare. Quite a lot of power for the price. Two-year warranty.

Keyboard flexes a bit while typing.

The N53SV is the laptop to get if you want power, but you're on a budget. We'd love a higher-quality keyboard, but this is only a small bugbear in an otherwise excellent laptop.

Asus N53SV review

Asus's good-looking N53 series laptops have proven to be some of the faster all-purpose notebooks on the market. The latest Asus N53SV model is as well, only more so thanks to its new state of the art Second Generation Intel Core CPU. Our test...

The Asus N53SV has some excellent features. The price performance ratio is nice, and it's never been whacked with an ugly stick. If the minor keyboard issues don't bother you, it's worth a look.

Great laptop

Very nice resolution for 15.6" screen ; 1gb gt 540 nvidia gfx ; Great for simple server running/ testing locally ; Example.. Microsoft visual studio 2010 ; Was shipped on time no problems with any hardware nor software ; Runs ; Borderlands 2 on high...

There are no cons for me so far ; Though with all laptops and computers try to keep the ventilation clear because running high settings will heat up fast

Great laptop.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas last year. Yanked the HD out and put an SSD in it. Upgraded the ram to 16GB (I know, overkill). . I had my own Win7x64 home dvd, so I did a clean fresh install (using the key that came with the laptop). Popped...

Sexy ; Comes with drivers and utilities disk ; Killer battery life ; Ram upgradable to 16 GB ; Wireless works awesome ; Nice keypad ; Fingerprint resistant surfaces

I honestly can't think of any
