The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus (2024) is a good midrange laptop by most measures. However, its display isn't as good as some others at around the same price.
Solid build quality Fast productivity performance Good battery life Very good IPS display
Competitors offer OLED at similar prices Single Thunderbolt 4 port No touch display option
“The Dell Inspiration 14 Plus is fast and efficient, but its display lacks the luster of close competitors.”

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus is priced like a premium laptop but built like a midrange machine. It provides good performance, but its display leaves me wanting.
Excellent productivity performance Competent creativity performance Very good productivity display Lightweight for its size
Build has some flexing and bending Not competitively priced No display option for creators
“It does everything a laptop needs to, but Dell's Inspiron 16 Plus can't pull off the premium presentation its price demands.”

Dell's latest Inspiron 16 Plus (model 7640) is a fair all-around utility laptop but not a leading one, with underwhelming performance only partly offset by long battery life.

The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus laptop is a remarkably well rounded system, especially where battery life and price-to-performance ratio are concerned.
Strong performance despite throttling ; Exceptional battery life ; An unreasonably good keyboard ; Compelling value
Fake vents ; Throttle under sustained loads ; No user upgrades
The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus isn’t perfect, and some of its choices are even a little silly, but it’s all-around performance is impossible to ignore, especially at its price. Any area the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus comes up lacking, it’s more than made up for...

Dell's Inspiron Plus 16 (2024) is a well-rounded laptop with enough power to do whatever you want, and it's still marked down after Amazon's Presidents' Day sale.
Dell's Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 is a great option for consumers who want a well-rounded laptop with plenty of storage and a respectable set of hardware that will last but don't need a specialized machine or require a top-tier display.

The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus's AI-aided processor is impressive, but its design leaves us wanting.
Great battery life ; Lots of ports ; Responsive trackpad
Stiff keyboard ; Heavy
However, the Inspiron 14 Plus isn’t exceptional in its class. Laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 can offer the same levels of performance, 12-hour battery life, an HDR display, and fuller sound for only a couple hundred dollars more. For those that...

The Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 could be a great companion for people who are often on the go and need a big-screen laptop. In this scenario, if you choose an iGPU-only machine with a smaller battery, you'll get a sub-2.0 kg notebook with a thin...
Modern design ; Compact and light for a 16-incher ; High P and E core clocks during full CPU loads (2.74 GHz / 2.28 GHz) ; The fan isn’t too noisy ; Metal chassis ; PWM-free (AUO73AB) ; Adequate max brightness (323 cd/m2) + 100% sRGB coverage (AUO73AB)...
Soldered memory for the iGPU-only devices ; Only one M.2 slot ; High CPU temperatures in medium and long loads (99°C – 90°C) ; The NVMe gets hot during benchmarking (77°C) ; The port selection is a bit limited ; The lid and the base could be more stable

Content creators may bemoan the display choices, but this midtier, 16-inch laptop offers well-rounded performance from its Core Ultra chip and RTX graphics.
Strong performance for the price ; Sharp and speedy 16-inch display
No OLED display option ; Undersized and stiff touchpad
