Dell Precision M2800

The Dell Precision M2800 is a bulky mobile workstation with a Core i7 processor and AMD FirePro graphics. It's good enough for the supervisor or manager who needs part-time portability and for vetting his team's architecture and graphics projects.

Portable workstation with ISV certification. Powerful processor and graphics card. Removable battery.

Square pixels visible (screen-door effect) on display. No backlit keyboard. No touch capability. Small-capacity solid-state drive (SSD). Servicing requires a screwdriver. USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports are the same color.

While the Dell Precision M2800 has the benchmark scores to back up its performance claims, it's just a good, not great, mobile workstation. The screen has flaws, battery life is short, and it's bulky and heavy. This workstation is more of a system that...

Dell Precision M2800 Workstation review: A solid performer

The Dell Precision M2800 is an impressive mobile workstation. Solidly built and equipped with high-end components, we have just a couple of niggles: the touchpad is too small, and the top-of-the-range model's 128GB SSD should be at least 256GB.

Well specified and fast ; Solid build quality ; Great keyboard ; Good sound output

Bulky and expensive ; Touchpad is too small ; Only 128GB of SSD storage

It's not particularly portable, but the Dell Precision M2800 is certainly an impressive mobile workstation. Solidly built and equipped with high-end components, we have just a couple of niggles: the touchpad is too small for our liking, and the...

Dell Precision M2800 laptop review

Dell quotes a weight of 2.5 kg for the 15.6-inch M2800, but that's for an entry-level model with an Intel Core i5 processor and 6-cell battery. We reviewed one of the top-of-the-range models that is equipped with a more powerful Core i7 and 9-cell...

The Precision M2800 is big and heavy, but its performance is hard to beat if you need a high-end mobile workstation for graphics, video or 3D design. Battery life is quite respectable for such a powerful laptop, and along with Dell's three-year on-site...

Solid computer

Have no issues with this computer. Chose this one because of the i7 processor and upgraded the ram from 8 to 16 and it runs as fast and smoothly as I can ask for. Able to run multiple programs simultaneously with no issues. Also not a fan of Windows...
