Aorus X3 Plus v5 Notebook Review

Mini gaming machine. Skylake, USB Type-C, DDR4, NVMe SSD, touchpad redesign, and HDMI 2.0 round up the list of changes for the refreshed X3 Plus. Aorus shows it means business in the already narrow sub 14-inch gaming category.

matte QHD screen, bright backlight, 98 percent sRGB coverage, fast and stable system performance, large battery capacity; respectable battery life, good fan controls, 2x NVMe slots, USB 3.1 Type-C; HDMI 2.0 w/ HDCP 2.2, dedicated Macro keys

chassis creaks, weak lid, response times could be better, PWM for brightness control, all mSATA slots removed; only 2x storage bays, no Nvidia G-Sync, no Thunderbolt 3, touchpad could be more ergonomic, pricey

As the smallest Aorus offering, the X3 Plus v5 gets a lot of things on target while missing the mark on a few vital areas. The 13.9-inch display is especially strange as it looks phenomenal with its wide color gamut, dense resolution, very deep...

Gigabyte Aorus X3 Plus v5

Gigabyte says that this laptop is “the world's most powerful 13.9in laptop”, which is a grand claim. Although, when you consider how few 13.9in laptops there are on the market and the fact that the Aorus X3 Plus v5 has top-end kit from both Nvidia and...

Aorus X3 PLUS V5 Gaming Laptop Review

Aorus's X3 is a high-end 14in gaming laptop with a speedy SSD, great screen and slim chassis

Coupled with a very healthy battery life when in non-gaming mode, the Aorus X3 PLUS V5 makes for a very handy, powerful general use laptop as well as a mobile gaming machine. It's built extremely well, looks fantastic, is ergonomically sound and...

Great laptop for work and play

TL:DR – I like the design, mobility and performance, and haven't run into any major issues. I'm enjoying the x3 and happy with this purchase.

First off the packaging for my X3 was awesome, it was well protected and the inner box looked very luxurious. As for the laptop, I love the Aorus design, being someone that needs a laptop for work, this design is still quite presentable, black aluminum...

I would have liked to see Thunderbolt 3 support, however they did provide HDMI 2.0 which works for me No hard drive, must use external HDD

Problems with build quality cant be ignored for this price

if you can get past the build issues or its actual hardware is very powerful for its size. Even though a new Razer Blade is certainly a better move for me, If you need something with at least potential upgradability this is the only sub-15" with a 970m...

very high end hardware in a small package. DDR4, PCIe x4 SSD, 6GB 970M. not many other choices as powerful this size.

Price. I would have been able to handle it, but when a Razer Blade is the same price and blows this away in build quality while adding a touch screen, I cant do it. build quality is very poor for a machine of this price. I am a perfectionist when it...

Aorus X3 Plus v5-CF2 Gaming Laptop

Anyone who are thinking to buy this laptop for both gaming and office work which involves lots of typing, avoid it. Especially if you think the build quality is important, DO NOT BUY THIS. If you are buying this solely for gaming and portability, just...

By far the best 14inch laptop in spec wise Long battery life for a gaming laptop

Poor build quality. The laptop creaks everywhere, hinge wobbles, trackpad gets in a way when typing, spacebar sometimes doesn't work when not hit firmly
