Gigabyte P37X v6

The basic-black Gigabyte P37X v6 may not look like a traditional gaming laptop, but it performs like one—while packing a lot of storage and a 4K screen.

Strong performance and battery life. Plentiful storage. Good selection of ports and additional hardware. Thin and light for a gaming laptop.

Other laptops offer slightly better performance for less. Design might be too conservative for some gamers. Finicky Power and mouse buttons. So-so speakers.

Conclusions Whether the Gigabyte P37x v6 is right for you depends on what type of gamer you are. If you can live without external bells and whistles, if you crave a 4K display, and if you like the idea of above-average portability and battery life,...

Gigabyte P37X v5 Notebook Review

Hot laptop. Gigabyte refreshes its thin 17.3-inch gaming notebook and equips it with a modern Skylake CPU. The cooling does, however, have problems with the fast components and the processor in particular warms up quite a bit.

very thin and light ; aluminum chassis with sturdy base unit ; manual fan control via preloaded software (Smart Manager) ; modern ports with NVMe, HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.1 Type-C ; up to four storage devices (2x M.2, 1x SATA III, 1x SATA ODD) ; three video...

very high case and CPU temperatures under heavy load ; battery is only charged when the device is turned on ; slight throttling in extreme scenarios ; system noise could be lower while idling ; heavily reduced performance on battery power ;...

Despite the update, our verdict for the Gigabyte P37X v5 is similar to the pre-predecessor P37X v3 that already provided plenty of performance. The cooling was unfortunately not really improved, because the processor gets very hot and also has to...

Gigabyte P37x V4 Review

This unassuming 17.3-inch powerhouse packs a fifth generation Intel Core i7 CPU and GeForce GTX 980M GPU in a sleek 6.2 pound package. The Gigabyte P37x v4 isn't perfect, but it delivers the goods.

Strong performance ; Portable ; Solid audio quality

Weird keyboard/touchpad alignment ; Color contrast isn’t as crisp as competitors ; Fan is noisy ; The Gigabyte P37x v4 has it’s faults, but few machines can match the level of portability and performance offered.

Gigabyte P37X Notebook Review

Thin is in. How thin of a laptop can you fit a GTX 980M? The Gigabyte P37 is the thinnest 17.3-inch notebook with the Nvidia GPU and we find out if there are any performance consequences that may entail.

Thinnest and lightest 17.3-inch notebook with GTX 980M GPU, 4x storage bays (2x mSATA, 1x SATA III, 1x SATA ODD) and RAID 0, 3x video-out ports, Excellent performance, High quality matte 1080p IPS panel, Bright backlight, Two-year global warranty,...

High surface temperatures, Loud under load, Non-removable battery, Inconsistent CPU Turbo Boost, Average battery life, Uninspiring chassis, No higher resolution display options, Awkward touchpad and mouse inputs, CPU and GPU not upgradeable, Display...

Why invest in a thicker gaming notebook when a much thinner and lighter one delivers roughly the same performance? The Gigabyte P37X makes no significant sacrifices to hardware or quality for its slimmed-down profile. The aluminum base is solid with...

Gigabyte P37X v4 Gaming Notebook Review

Gigabyte's P37X v4 gaming notebook sports a Broadwell-based processor, GeForce GTX 980M graphics and an impressive tiered storage subsystem.

Build quality, swappable optical drive/hard drive bay, thin dimensions, gaming and productivity performance, price

Susceptible to fingerprints, poorly placed components (speakers, backlight, and trackpad), fan noise

The Gigabyte P37X v4 offers the performance of a i7-5700HQ and a GTX 980M in an impressively sleek and thin body. Thermals have improved over the previous P34W v3, but the cooling solution is still loud under load. No other laptops in this class offer...

Gigabyte P37X Review (17.3″, i7, GTX 980M)

Gigabyte are clearly best known for their motherboards and graphics cards however in recent times they have been making some gamer orientated peripherals which have impressed. Systems are also something Gigabyte offer, whether that is the palm sized...

Starting with the build quality of the P37X we have a system which immediately feels well built as we unbox it. The metal chassis feels solid and we like the minimal branding and curved edges. The parts used by Gigabyte for the key components are all...

Gigabyte P37X

The P37X is being marketed as one of Gigabyte's thinnest and most powerful gaming notebooks to date, and features some top-end specs to back up this claim. It's loaded with 8GB of VRAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M GPU and an Intel Core i7-4727HQ processor.

Solid gaming performance ; Thin for a gaming laptop ; Upgradable memory options

Expensive ; Cheap feeling trackpad and keyboard

Gigabyte P37X v6 review

A super-powered GTX 1070 gaming giant

Great gaming performance ; Sharp 4K display ; Thin dimensions ; Great build quality

Loud fans under strain ; No G-Sync ; Small trackpad ; A bit pricey

The P37X is finally a viable 4K gaming machine, thanks to an upgrade to Nvidia’s GTX 1070, and it manages to be thinner than its predecessor in the process.
