HP Envy Sleekbook 6z

More Info HP unveils Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook, other thin-and-lights in various sizes HP takes EliteBook W-series on a trip to Ivy Bridge, throws in Z220 Xeon for good measure HP refreshes EliteBook line with five new models, Ivy Bridge and optional...

Solid, attractive design ; Beats Audio in a lower-end machine ; Comfortable keyboard ; Decent battery life

Finicky touchpad ; Below-average performance

The Sleekbook 6z looks identical to HP's Ultrabook offerings, but its performance trails even lower-end ultraportables we've tested recently.

HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us

The HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us looks the part of an ultrabook alternative, but with its poor performance and low-quality display, it's the one likely to be left behind.

Less expensive than ultrabooks. Good port selection. Metal construction.

Sluggish performance. Loaded with bloatware. Low-resolution display. Screen door effect on display. Fingerprint magnet

Review HP Envy 6-1000sg Ultrabook

More than just an Ultrabook? Most Ultrabook buyers have to sacrifice performance in favor of enhanced mobility. HP's Envy 6 bucks the trend, and aims to woo gamers with a dedicated graphics card, all while delivering good value for money....

high applications performance, gaming capability, SSD cache, decent speakers, good workmanship, long battery life, Unlike most of its rivals, the Envy 6 is ready for more than just web browsing and mobile work: The dedicated Radeon graphics card...

glossy and dim display, limited choice of connectors, GPU throttling on battery, slow and low range wifi, As we've seen so often, it's the display that prevents a better rating: poor contrast, glossy and much too dark, it's the weak spot of an...

HP ENVY Sleekbook 6z Review: Is Being Thin Enough?

This 15.6-inch AMD-powered notebook is 8/10ths of an inch thin, weighs less than five pounds and gets almost eight hours of battery life. That's mighty impressive ... but read our review to find out what we don't like.

Great battery life ; Good touchpad ; Nice-looking design

Awful keyboard ; Poor screen with no upgrade option at this time ; No user upgradeability ; Impressive battery life and a nice design make the Sleekbook 6z quite attractive, but the weak keyboard and poor upgrade options limit the value.

HP ENVY 6t-1000 review – the 15.6 inch ultrabook

If you want a 15.6 inch ultrabook, the HP ENVY 6 provides solid value for the buck. It's sleek, light and nicely built and fast enough for the average daily tasks. However, HP could have worked on the details, as the screen, keyboard or trackpad are...

slim and light for a 15.6 inch laptop, good looking and nicely put together, fast enough for daily use and multimedia, good speakers, decent battery life

The screen, keyboard and trackpad are only average, not as fast as other laptops in this class, easily catches fingerprints

All in all, the HP Envy 6 is an interesting 15.6 inch laptop and one of the few ultrabooks available in this class.

HP Envy Sleekbook 6 Review

A sleek laptop that needs a tad more tuning.

Stylish and standout design, decent graphics performance

Slow hard drive, finicky trackpad, screen is a let-down

The HP Envy Sleekbook 6 packs some fairly decent hardware under that sinister looking case, giving it an identity crisis where it’s not an Ultrabook nor an average laptop.

HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us review: A low-cost ultrabook alternative

The reasonably priced lightweight notebook comes with an AMD chip and Beats audio technology.

Slim design, 15.6-inch screen, inexpensive, good battery life

Bigger and heavier than an ultrabook, can't change battery, VGA requires adapter

Ultimately, its price separates HP's Envy Sleekbook 6-1010us from the competition. At $600 (compared to an average price of about $1,100 for an Ivy-Bridge-based ultrabook), it is a bargain for those who don't need the absolute smallest and fastest system.

HP Envy Sleekbook 6z

The HP Envy Sleekbook 6z is another Ultrabook laptop that looks to take a bite out of the crowded market. It tries to do this with a rock-bottom price tag of $600 and Beats Audio in an attempt to lure back to school shoppers away from other brands....

HP Envy 6-1001tx 15.6in Ultrabook

HP Envy 6-1001tx review: a big, Sandy Bridge-based notebook with discrete graphics, lots of RAM and plenty of storage

Good configuration ; Well built ; Good input devices

Poor screen ; Single-band Wi-Fi ; Inconsistent performance

HP's Envy 6-1001tx is an Ultrabook that's large, but it just squeezes into Intel's requirements for thickness. It's a good model to consider if you want a thin and reasonably light notebook for gaming. You get a good configuration with lots of RAM,...
