HP Smart Tank 5101 review: when paper jams hurt

We tested HP's Smart Tank 5101, an affordable all-in-one inkjet tank printer, to determine its long-term value and ease of use.

Extremely low cost per page Two-year supply of ink included Photo prints look good on plain paper Scanner is fast with good quality Optical character recognition works reliably

Serious mobile app bugs on iPhone Tiny icon LCD and buttons are confusing Faint lines in glossy prints Paper jams are difficult to clear

“The HP Smart Tank 5101 has its strengths, but suffers from software issues and cost-cutting measures.”

HP Mini 5101 netbook approved for use by mini executives

The Mini 5101, or Mini Executive as HP would have it, is now available to purchase, with prices starting at $399.99. While still a netbook at heart, the 5101 h...

Review: HP Mini 5101 Netbook

HP's new spartan notebook is a minimalist joy. Just don't rely on it for video — the playback has more chop than an episode of...

Attractive, brushed metal aesthetic is welcome change to cluttered look found on many netbooks. Well spaced island keys reminiscent of Apple’s sexy new MacBook keyboard

Weird, choppy QuickTime performance will make latest Transformers movie look like the first Terminator. Battery life weak compared to Asus

HP Mini 5101 (Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz review

When we heard that HP was making some big changes to its small business Netbook, we were worried. After all, the current version--the Mini 2140 --is probably our all-time favorite Netbook, thanks to an innovative keyboard (since adopted by HP's...

Revamped version of one of our favorite Netbooks; excellent keyboard and touch pad; sturdy and durable; includes accelerometer; optional higher-resolution display.

Loses its ExpressCard slot; standard Netbook components at a premium price.

HP's biz-minded Mini 5101 is a successor to the Mini 2140 (one of our all-time favorite Netbooks). It looks and feels great, but for a premium-price Netbook, we expect to get more features, not fewer.

HP Mini 5101

HP pioneered the notion of transforming a netbook into a corporate raider. The idea seems like a budget-conscious no-brainer now, but 18 months ago the HP Mini 2133 was a wolf pack of one. Since then, the netbook market has evolved--and so have HP's...

Great keyboard / mouse controls ; Superior business-ready software suite

Tinny speakers ; Sound is a little tinny

HP's Business-netbook grows up -- and gets better -- by making some long-overdue changes. But it needs a better battery.

HP Mini 5101

HP's new netbook, the HP Mini 5101, will let you pile on the features, but is the average user willing to pay for them?

Very attractive metallic chassis. 95-percent keyboard is right up there with those on the top netbooks. Mouse buttons are quiet. Bevy of options, including an "HD" resolution, 3G, SSDs and 7,200 rpm HDDs. Good performance scores. 802.11n wireless...

Options can bring up the cost significantly and aren't available for purchase yet. ; Watch our HP Mini 5101 video review!

Review HP Mini 5101 Netbook

Netbook with Business Ambitions.Even if it's not actually obvious

Robust case; Good image quality with VGA port; Typing-eager keyboard; Matt display with a high resolution; Useable sound rendering

No digital image output/docking option; Merely 12 month warranty ex-factory; Touchpad needs getting used to; Permanently existent fan

A smaller 29 Wh and a somewhat thicker 55 Wh battery had been included in our pre-sample. Unfortunately, the required larger battery version for an according mobility isn't yet officially available.

HP Mini 5101 review

Simply put, the HP Mini 5101 is one of the best netbooks I’ve used in nearly 2 years of covering mini-laptops. There are faster machines out there, but none with a 10 inch display and Intel Atom processor. And you could create your own PC with a...

HP Mini 5101 Review

HP is here with a brand new laptop the Mini 5101. Now a net book is just like a notebook with more mobility and slower speed. Plus it is really tiny so it won't occupy too much space on your backpack. A net book also comes with modest hardware to...

Great keyboard, good collection of bundled software like HP 3D DriveGuard

Expensive, no ExpressCard slot
