HP 15 (i5-8250U, GeForce MX110, SSD, FHD) Laptop Review

Display disappointment. Hewlett Packard's 15.6-inch notebook features a Core i5 CPU, a fast NVMe SSD, and a dedicated GeForce MX 110 GPU with GDDR5 video RAM. Unfortunately, the matte FHD panel was a disappointment.

matte display ; FHD resolution ; mostly quiet ; NVMe SSD ; ac Wi-Fi

very dark display with poor viewing angles ; below average Wi-Fi performance ; slow card reader ; complicated maintenance ; average battery life ; one year warranty ; no USB-C

The HP 15-da0405ng is a 15.6-inch office notebook powered by a Kaby Lake Refresh ULV quad-core CPU and a dedicated GeForce MX110 GPU that is not going to stand in the way of occasional light gaming. The system can be completely silent in low load and...

HP 15-bw075ax (A12-9720P, Radeon R7) Laptop Review

Choppy waters. The HP 15-bw07ax brings AMD's newest high-end APU, the A12-9720P, to the market. However, the APU may be a bit too new - the system is remarkably unstable.

excellent speakers ; good gaming performance for its class ; great thermal management ; quiet operation

numerous system crashes (during our testing period) ; mediocre CPU performance ; poor screen ; mushy keyboard ; very cheap materials

While the HP 15 (A9) we reviewed recently was an exercise in patience due to its slow components and sluggish operation, the HP 15 (A12) is a trial due to its instability. The processor is much faster than the dual-core A9 in our previous unit, but due...

HP 15-ay116ng Notebook Review

Surprisingly good. The HP 15-ay116ng costs 500 Euros (~$532) - a lot of money for a simple office notebook. But the laptop has a lot to offer: a Kaby Lake processor, a Full HD display and an SSD. Added to this is very good battery life and low...

Matte screen ; Full HD display ; Fast SSD ; Good battery life

Only Fast Ethernet ; Only one-year warranty ; No USB Type-C ; No maintenance flap ; No AC Wi-Fi ; Low WLAN data rate

HP's 15.6-inch laptop left an overall good impression. Thanks to the Kaby Lake processor, the notebook is equipped for all common use scenarios - for now and in years to come. The notebook stays relatively cool despite the rather powerful CPU. A fast...

HP 15-da (15-da0041na) laptop review

  (Rating Hidden)

The HP 15-da0041na is a 15.6-inch laptop available exclusively from HP's website. This chunky laptop is built for everyday computing tasks and very attractively priced, but is it better than the mid-range laptop competition? Our full review reveals all.

friendly helper 2

Using a micro usb drive for the boot partition to make it accept a raid array holding the os. (Hp locked the feature out but it was easy as copy/paste in gparted) it's a beast in raid btw There is no lid on the cpu so don't expect to delid the i7. I...

1year later. Going strong. Love it. Running 2ssd in RAID0 (I know it's not better, [but it is]) ; Changed the thermal paste and saw a 3-4*temp drop. Overclocked in Intel xtu to 3.6 single core and 2.4 on 2-4 active cores. Running16 gb 2133 -cl11 gskill...

Only newest Linux has drivers for wireless adapter ; It's not the most durable ; Can't boot from raid array! Wth man

Solid laptop

over all its is a great computer for the average gamer. If you are going to spend all day gaming just build one.

Overall hp did a great job ; touch screen works great ; Lighting is cool ; big mouse pad ; i7 is really great have had no problems running anything ; GPU is great. iv played Titan Fall Crysis 2 and 3 with no probems

There are some little things that bug me like the offset keyboard but you get used to it. speakers are ok but I expected more from beats. Speaker lights tend to mess up but I keep them on black because I just dont like them on ; My only big problem is...

hp laptop

bought it as a gift for a 14 yr old, it does not feel as snappy as my laptop because of the speed limitations of single channel memory and I would recommend not trying to get to the memory chip to upgrade to 8 gigs unless you are very experienced at...

cheap ok processor and good graphics with large hd. comes with win 7 64bit not win 8

only one memory slot not 2 as some specs say and very hard to get to so only single channel memory. this is for the AMD versions, the intel versions have 2 slots

Good Refurb

- Cons just to make you aware, but for all intensive purposes it does everything I need it to do. - Install "classic start shell" if you want it to operate more like win 7.

Considering the price, a great laptop for the $290 ; Plays basic games pretty well like half life 2 ; Good little CPU and GPU for $290

HDD is a little slow at 5400rpm. Downloading is limited because HDD is maxed out at 100%, but still runs fast enough ; Mousepad doesn't work for a few seconds here and there, but works well enough on the go when you don't want to use an actual mouse ;...

7 month update

I took a gamble with buying a refurb... from HP... both of which I'm fairly certainly I will not do again.

This is an update from a previous review ; Touch screen was fine (when it worked) ; Ran decently while it worked ; Sound was noticeably better than on other Laptops ; Keyboard layout was nice

Had issues with the touchscreen not always being recognized at about the 4 month mark. Restarts would usually fix the problem but overall it wasn't a major issue as I used a mouse instead ; What the real kicker now is the laptop will not boot. No bios...
