HP Spectre x2 ( 2015)

Most of the hybrid PCs we see these days -- computers that shift between laptop and tablet configurations by flipping, folding or detaching -- have settled into the fold-back style popularized by Lenovo's Yoga line . These systems, including HP's own...

The HP Spectre x2 has a slim but sturdy design and a stiffer keyboard than Microsoft's similar Surface Pro, plus the keyboard cover is included in the base price. A mobile broadband antenna allows for easy on-the-go data.

The kickstand is hard to operate, the processors are slower than many other premium hybrids, and battery life is merely OK.

HP's slim, attractive Spectre x2 follows the road not taken by Microsoft's Surface Pro, using lower-power processors to keep the price down, as well as packing in the must-have keyboard cover.

HP Spectre x2 review: A Surface clone that's actually a better deal

Despite an awkward kickstand, this tablet-first hybrid costs less than Microsoft's version and doesn't force you to buy the keyboard separately.

HP Spectre x2 (2015) review

Under the bells and whistles is a remarkable Windows tablet

Ultrathin design ; Decent battery life ; Exceptional Core M performance

Massive bezels ; Recessed kickstand ; Sluggish briefly after startup

The HP Spectre x2 is a 12-inch Windows tablet with a lot of extra tech you might not care about, but its low price is too hard to pass up.

HP adds a flood of new premium Spectre and Envy PCs

While the low-cost Stream laptops and Mini desktops have been recent highlights from HP, the company also offers the high-end Envy and Spectre lines for those looking for a premium experience. HP has a series of new updates to those upscale products,...

All these new HP systems, plus an 8-inch Windows 10 tablet called the Envy 8 Note, should be available before the holiday shopping season starts, but as of right now only US prices and dates have been announced.
