Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3179)

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 is a convertible-hybrid laptop that has a better processor and subsequently higher performance than rivals, but makes a few compromises to meet its relatively inexpensive price.

Core m3 processor. Includes HDMI port. Touch screen. Attractive design.

No 5GHz Wi-Fi. Slow 5,400rpm hard drive. 1,366-by-768 resolution screen. Relatively short battery life.

The convertible Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 is inexpensive, has a decent amount of performance for a budget system, and is a good value overall. However, the Lenovo Yoga 710 (11") holds on to its top spot thanks to its higher-resolution screen,...

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series (3162)

The $180 Dell Inspiron 11 (3162) is a competent performer with all the basic features and functionality you want in a budget ultraportable laptop, plus 64-bit Windows 10, long battery life, and a sturdy build.

Very inexpensive. Sturdy build. Decent performance. Long battery life in testing. Uses 64-bit Windows 10.

Bold blue color will likely be divisive. Middling display with poor viewing angles.

Conclusion The Dell Inspiron 11 (3162) is an inexpensive ultraportable laptop with 64-bit Windows and acceptable performance speeds. The feature set is very basic, as you'd expect, but there are no glaring exclusions for a system that costs just $179....

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 Special Edition (3153)

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 Special Edition (3153) is a well-built convertible-hybrid laptop, with better overall performance than its already-excellent predecessor, thanks to CPU, memory, and hard drive upgrades.

Attractive and sturdy convertible design. Nice keyboard and touchpad. Speedy Intel Core i3 processor and 4GB of memory. Solid-state drive (SSD). Dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

On the pricey end of entry-level, convertible-hybrid systems. Display is reflective. Higher-clocked components mean shorter battery life than the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147).

Conclusion While the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 Special Edition (3153) is similar to the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147) in design and appearance, but is a fairly comprehensive upgrade in terms of components and performance. The new...

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147)

The entry-level Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147) proves that you don't have to compromise if you want a convertible-hybrid laptop that lasts all day and fully utilizes its touch screen.

More than 8 hours of battery life. Thin and compact. Feels sturdy. Comfortable to hold. Full-size HDMI port and three USB ports.

Aggressive screen dimming. Has a little keyboard flex. USB 3.0 ports are same color as USB 2.0 ports.

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147) proves that you don't have to endure a stripped-down laptop when you only have $450 to spend. It combines a well-designed flipping hinge with all-day battery life and a relatively full feature set. All...

Dell's Inspiron 11 3000 does the 2-in-1 thing on the cheap and does it well

For its sub-$500 price, this 11-inch hybrid makes up for in mobility and battery life what it lacks in performance.

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 gives you the flexibility of a laptop and tablet in one ultraportable package at an affordable price. It has a long battery life, it looks good, and feels like it's solidly built. Plus, you can easily open it and upgrade...

The lower-end components limit performance. There are few configuration options, so if you want more than 4GB of memory or an SSD, you're on your own. The bottom can get uncomfortably hot.

With the Inspiron 11 3000, Dell delivers an everyday ultraportable hybrid with an excellent battery life at a good price.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000

For less than $500, the affordable and sleek Inspiron 11 3000 serves as both a laptop and a tablet.

Attractive modern design; Good battery life for a 2-in-1; Converts easily between laptop and tablet modes; Good audio quality

Awkwardly placed power button and volume rocker; Grainy camera; Touchpad can be finicky

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Review: The Too Pricey, Too Compromised 2-in-1

There are many mid-range 2-in-1s on the market, so what separates the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 from the pack? Nothing good, unfortunately.

Decent keyboard ; Good day-to-day performance

Decent keyboard ; Good day-to-day performance ; The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is an awkward 2-in-1 with an inflated price tag and some surprisingly limited features. If you are going to get it, make sure you get it cheap.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series (2014) Review

The Dell Inspiron 11 is a 2-in-1 with a reasonable low purchase price for general use. Keep reading to find out if this hybrid notebook can do more than satisfy casual users on a budget.

Bright, responsive touch screen ; Silent ; Good basic 2-in-1 device

Keyboard, chassis not designed well ; Performance not up to par for streaming video ; No SSD option ; The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 notebook PC is an inexpensive device (starting at $399.99) that works for people who just need basic...

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 notebook PC is an inexpensive device (starting at $399.99) that works for people who just need basic functionality. That said, it's not designed for power users, business people, or gamers.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series budget 2-in-1 convertible review

Can't decide you want a Windows laptop or a tablet… but certain you don't want to spend a lot of money? A number of PC makers including Acer, Asus, HP, and Dell offer low-cost 2-in-1 devices that you can use either as a notebook or as a tablet. Some...

They’re both decent options if you’re looking for a low-cost 2-in-1, but as someone who values battery life and upgradeability, if I had to choose one or the other, I’d probably go with the Dell Inspiron 11 3000.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series convertible laptop

Turn this little Dell from a laptop into a tablet, but don't expect fast performance from its Celeron CPU

IPS screen ; Dual-band, 802.11ac Wi-Fi ; Full-sized HDMI port ; Full-sized SD card slot

Sluggish performance at times ; Touchpad could be better ; Touchscreen sometimes erratic

Dell's 2-in-1 is an inexpensive proposition if you're after a dual-purpose device. It's easy to use it as a tablet, just by tilting the screen all the way back around the unit, and it does the job well enough as a laptop. Just don't expect a lot of...
